Tucker is getting fat

While debating whether or not our new skinny hound shows any sign of weight gain, we looked at Tucker, too. We noticed that in addition to not having any ribs showing, our EPI boy no longer has a waist! We'd hate for him to get too fat, so cutting back on his food makes the most sense. He gets about...

Re: New Skinny Dog

Jean, we now have five dogs, and that is enough for a basketball team! We have a shepherd mix (EPI Tucker), a hound mix, a maltipoo, a maltese, and a Jack Russell/sheltie cross. They are all found/rehomed to us, they are a motely crew, and they don't always get along.

Re: New problem/UTI

Because you mentioned both of these, I'll tell you of my experience. For some reason, all of my dogs get the runs when they take probiotics---even the expensive ones from the vet. I would love to be able to give them, but they seem to make things worse. Slippery elm did not work on my guys, either. ...

Re: My beloved Shelby

Sheila, I am so sorry. She is in heaven now, where all dogs are good dogs, and all have homes, where there are fields full of squirrels to chase, and where the angels all have dog biscuits, which they feed her any time she wants. Sometimes you may feel her near, and that is because she has come back...

Re: New Skinny Dog

GREAT idea! She will have to stay in her crate while I'm at work, until we can learn more about her; the peanut butter & biscuit in a kong is perfect. Thanks so much!---Pam Oh, we now have a basketball team, if you know what I mean.

Re: New Skinny Dog

SUCH a good poo!!!! Yea! So, any hints are simply fattening her up? Thanks! Pam (I realize this is off subject, so I won't be mentioning her again)

Re: New Skinny Dog

Addendum: The only reason I've taken on this responsibility is, she's my grandson's dog, and he is a little less heartbroken, knowing he can come visit her anythime. Also, this girl is u g l y, bless her heart, and I doubt she'd ever get adopted by anyone else! . ;) P

New Skinny Dog

I am rescuing a very skinny hound mix, and I wonder if you have any advice. I think maybe her problem has been underfeeding, so I'm starting there, adding 50% more kibble, and I'm adding B12, if that makes sense. I have not yet seen her poo, because she's still stressed & hasn't gone (she came last ...

Re: Dog with EPI and IBD

Ben, I'm not sure if you realize that Tylan is a prescription antibiotic, at least it is here in FL. I hope your vet is able to come up with a regimen that helps Pup and you. My Tucker takes Diane's enzymes, Tylan and a B12 capsule opened into his food, twice a day, and he is mostly under control af...

Taryn, I just noticed you do intend to increase the amount. Hope it helps.
