We are feeding her at 150%. She has some catching up to do... It's getting a little better every day.
This morning I saw the first bit of partially digested watermelon rind pass in a well formed and firm poo! It is exciting to see something happening!

Re: Newbie question...
One more question... Hubs and I had watermelon with dinner. We took the rinds out to our chickens.... Oops, I dropped one! Monday was doggy on the spot and snatched it up before I could stop her.... She is still super hungry all the time. How much should I worry, or should I just watch for her to pa...

Re: Newbie question...
...was your pup fasted for at least 12 hours before the test was done? Yes. What B12 shot are you giving - is it simple B12 or a multi-vitamin B12? Vitamin B12 Injection (Cyanocobalamin) 1000 mcg/mL It sounds like you are dealing with SID (small intestinal dysbiosis), which all EPI dogs have, it's ...

Re: Newbie question...
The vet has her on Panakare enzymes 1tsp per meal. We feed her 4Health Chicken and Rice, 1.5 cups per meal, 3 times per day. Her ideal body weight is 40 to 45 lbs (she currently weighs 31lbs) Obviously, this all very new for her - new food, enzymes, etc. First enzymes were given last night. about 45...

Newbie question...
Monday's enzymes were at the vet yesterday, so we were able to pick those up - I will be buying from Diane's enzymes in future - my goodness these were expensive! Anyway, Monday had her very first dose of enzymes with her dinner last night. Overnight she had watery, horrible diarrhea. This morning, ...

Re: Hello - New Member
Yeah I am in agreement with the research, low fat is old research and my vet is surely not up to speed... I am not sure she has ever seen an EPI dog before... so this will be a learning experience for her.. and I feel like she is going to be all in with the learning, I really appreciate that about h...

Re: Hello - New Member
Diagnosis is in... It is EPI. My vet is not super up to date on this and I live rural so I will be leaning on you all a lot! They want to put her on a prescription diet (fine for now) which is low fat and they don't want her on grain free due to all the recent issues in the news. I appreciate my vet...

Hello - New Member
Hello! I am a new member. We just had our dog tested and are still awaiting the EPI results. For the past month or so, I have been watching my sweet girl, Monday, waste away... No matter how much we feed her she is starving and getting skinnier by the moment. It is terrifying! I came across EPI when...
