Re: Mixed Emotion on Food/Poops

Try not to get too discouraged. The beginning is the hardest stage......you are trying to get everything balanced while worrying about your pup. And as you probably have witnessed, every dog is unique in how they respond to food, enzymes, SID etc. It will get easier once you find the balance between...

Re: Mixed Emotion on Food/Poops

When you increased Wade's food amount, it looks like you didn't adjust his enzymes at the same time, which might account for the cow pie. We usually recommend that the 6x dose of enzymes be 1 teaspoon per cup....so you could increase the enzymes to 1 and 1/2 for 1 and 1/2 cups of food to see if that...

Re: Low TLI- worried

Yes, no need for you to worry........the cTLI test is definitive. Once you have your pup tested, you do not need any more TLI tests. Her pancreas cannot do what it is supposed to because of the EPI, so you replace her non-functioning pancreas with enzymes ..... Our Kolby's TLI was less than 1 and he...

Re: Won't Eat

Jess, When I gave Kolby the canned food version of Royal Canin , I started at 1 teaspoon enzymes per CAN ......which is about a 1/2 teaspoon per cup. I thought I would have to move it up from there, but it turned out that I didn't. That dose was fine for him when he went to the canned version of Roy...

Re: Won't Eat

Hi Jess, I am so sorry you and Zepp are going through this. We had similar difficulties with Kolby when he was first diagnosed. We could not find a food that agreed with him and he hated the enzymes. . We eventually had to go to a prescription diet, which I didn't want to do, but we were desperate. ...

Re: Poops & Mouth Sores - oh boy!

Our Kolby had bad mouth sores at the beginning and we did exactly what was suggested. We increased the water and lengthened the time of incubation.....at one point we were up to an hour, but I don't recommend going longer than that. Eventually, we started to move it back to 45 minutes, then 30 minut...

Re: New Diagnosis - Please help!

Wow, Andrea, that is an amazing improvement. It is always hard when our pups don't like the foods, or don't like the enzymes. I had a picky eater in Kolby, and it was so hard to find him a food he liked and that gave him good poos. So I can really appreciate what you have gone through and now has gi...

Re: Just joined

Hello Patricia and welcome to you and Bella. The beginning of treatment for EPI is the hardest part. It will get easier, as Jean said, once you balance the Food, Enzymes, B12 and antibiotics. If you can answer some of Jean's questions, we can better help you. Especially let us know what enzymes you ...

Re: EPI and Secondary Issues

You are doing a wonderful job with Connor. It is hard work getting to the bottom of all these things. He is lucky to have you. I just want to add my endorsement of titers. When Kolby was diagnosed with EPI I started worrying about reactions to vaccines because I had heard of dogs having reactions if...
