Re: Newly diagnosed dog in distress

Brian,

I am so glad to read this! You must be relieved to have her back, although I am sure you would love to have some more information about what caused this strange episode. Sometimes it is better to just accept the gift.

Let us know how she does.

Re: Newly diagnosed dog in distress

I am sure they checked for bloat, but the fact that she feels pain when touched makes me wonder if she could have partial bloating from gas or food in her stomach. Did they rule out bloat? Usually the gas gets worse and proceeds to the stomach twisting if the gas is not removed but I wonder if there...

I am so glad Lucy is being seen. Please let us know what you find out. I’m sure this is nerve wracking for you. Fingers crossed it is something simple.

Re: Newly diagnosed dog in distress

It seems to me that this would qualify as a situation that would put you at the head of that 4-6 hour wait if you forcefully describe Lucy’s symptoms to the substitute vet and ask for advice

How is Lucy now?

Re: Newly diagnosed dog in distress

Hi Brian, I am sorry you are going through this with Lucy. My first suggestion of course would be to get her to a vet. But I do have a question. Was she given metronidazole by any chance? It is an antibiotic that is oft en prescribed for bacterial issues and some dogs experience serious side effects...

Re: New Here - Maverick's Journey

Congratulations, Jess! That was some fine detective work you did. Mav is certainly lucky to have landed with you. You are doing all the right things and it is obviously showing. Maverick is doing amazingly well. It took us much longer to get everything in balance when we were going through this with...

It is a profound experience. I am so glad you had caring people around you to support you. I have found that the experie...

Re: Jasper update

That is wonderful news, Tony. You have done an amazing job of balancing everything. Congratulations to both of you. It's a great feeling, isn't it. When we tell people it will happen, i know many people can't believe their dog will ever be healthy again. Jasper is one more example that it can and do...

Re: Mental health n logistics

I so remember the depth of our grief with each of our German Shepherds who have passed. It was different from the grief we experienced when members of our human family have passed. I don't know how to explain that. I am glad that you are on the path of healing. You are doing a wonderful job with Bud...

Re: New here - meet Johnny!

What a handsome boy! He is having the time of his life.......especially with those pork chops. Fingers crossed that there are no ill effects. He just wanted to show you he is a normal dog. LOL.

The pictures are just great. He is a charmer. I love the one in the car.
