Re: Older Shiloh Shepherd
So I've started incorporating a bit of the Gas-x stuff in or before his meal and Anubis seems to be 'ballooning' up less which seems to make him more comfortable. I think I found the delicate balance in regards to controlling his EPI for the time being. Now I'm going to switch my focus a little more...

Re: Older Shiloh Shepherd
I've tried everything to hide the pills the vet had given me in the past, Anubis is just too freaking smart for his own good! Cream cheese, regular cheese even raw ground beef and bacon; he will still refuse or throw it up a few minutes later. But the Gas-X really seems to help with the amount of ga...

Re: Older Shiloh Shepherd
He's had torsion in the past and has since had his stomach tacked to the abdominal wall to prevent it from occurring again. Every now and then though he seems to 'blow up' like a balloon and it takes hours to work out his system in the meantime he can't settle because of it. I just want to give him ...

Re: Older Shiloh Shepherd
I hear lots of digestive noises, his belly and intestines seem to swell with how much gas is in them. The vet's have taken xrays of that before and at first thought he had an obstruction but couldn't find anything, turns out it was all gas. I have slippery elm powder but I guess I hadn't been giving...

Re: Older Shiloh Shepherd
I just placed an order through Diane to see how well the shipping is to me. I'm up n the Yukon Territory and sometimes shipping can be iffy even in country. I will check out the other website for the B12 stuff. The vets have to send out his blood in order to test for the B12 levels and they want to ...

Re: Older Shiloh Shepherd
Thanks for the response @jilbert57, Currently the only enzymes I have access to are the ones from the vet which are the Pank-Aid brand that only come in the 4 ounce tub. He gets 3tsp for 2-1/2 to 3 cups of food. He isn't on any antibiotics at the moment but he probably will need them for the skin ra...

Re: Older Shiloh Shepherd
Update: So I'm now changing Anubis over to the First Mate Chicken with Blueberry kibble, which has 4% fiber but still plenty of carbs. Since July 26 he's gone from 52.8kg to 50.7kg and normally I try to keep him about 54 to 55kg, it's not the lowest he's ever been but it's getting close so I'm reall...

Re: Older Shiloh Shepherd
I requested a copy of my dog's xrays from July and thought I would include one of them in my post.

Re: Older Shiloh Shepherd
Anubis gets about two and a half cups of food with 3tsp of enzymes. During his evening meal I've recently included slippery elm, B12 on top of what I already put in his food: 1tsp of glucosamine, 1/2tsp of turmeric powder, enzymes and CBD oil. In my reading, a lack of B12 can lead to issues with the...
