Re: EPI and Secondary Issues
Hi Molly! I just read this whole thread and my goodness your boy has some issues! I know the EPI can be overwhelming, we have had our EPI diagnosis for about 6 months now and we are in the routine of it. I wanted to share a couple things that have helped me out as far as the other symptoms (non-EPI ...

Re: Epi on a Raw Food Diet - I have a question
I just wanted to share what worked for us so that others can have the information too! :) It wasn't very easy finding raw diet tips for EPI dogs! I thought the whole fat vs ground fat was interesting too, but it makes sense that their bodies can digest smaller bits more easily than large chunks! Jus...

Re: Epi on a Raw Food Diet - I have a question
Granted we are still transitioning our girl to a raw diet (taking a while because of her EPI and sensitive system), we have found the best results (and solid poops!!) with the following information. Since raw food is harder to measure by the cup since the densities of different meat/bones will requi...

Re: Any Experience with Raw Diet?
That's just what I needed, thank you so much!!
As for incubating, did you just mix the enzymes straight into the meal and let it sit as with kibble? Do I need to add any water or does the food have enough moisture to absorb the enzymes?
Thanks!!
Eleanor and Fi

Any Experience with Raw Diet?
Hello everyone! Now that we have gotten Fi's poops/SID back under control, we are thinking about switching her to a raw diet. We had tried it once before her diagnosis with little success (probably because we tried a cold-turkey switch and started with chicken - both no-no's that we now understand d...

Re: Eating Poop Again
Thank you for all of the responses! Her poops have firmed up back to normal over the weekend, I think it was the fish oil. Unfortunately, the fish oil seemed to work so much better for her allergies than the coconut oil does, so I am going to try to gradually add it in maybe once a day instead of th...

Re: Joint supplements
Hello! I use TriActa for joint supplementation! It is a powder that I put directly on my dog's food once a day, and have been doing so since she was about 3 months old! I have a GSD, and it is widely known that they have join issues as they get older so I followed my breeder's recommendation to supp...

Eating Poop Again
Good morning! I haven't posted anything in a while because we have been on a very good path in managing Fi's EPI. We just moved into our new home with a big fenced in backyard, and we quickly discovered that Fi is back to her old habits of eating her own poop. She doesn't want it until it is a coupl...

Re: Peeing ALOT...AGAIN..
Hey Kellie! I have the same issue with my female GSD, Fi. I have been worried over the past few weeks that she might have a UTI since she is peeing so much more frequently and also licking herself a lot, but we got a urinalysis done with post-op bloodwork and she was perfectly clear of any infection...

Re: New Diagnosis - GSD Puppy
Good morning, Everyone! We have some updates on Fi. Her surgery went well, no complications or anything. She vomited once that night following surgery, but it was likely the anesthesia's effect. However, the next morning, she had a seizure which prompted a follow-up visit to the vet. Scariest experi...
