I agree with Both Jill and Andrea... usually prescription food is not needed with an EPI dog UNLESS there is another medical condition that requires special food.
like Diabetes, food...

Dr approved the Tylan....do I continue the Slippery Elm Bark with it?

Her tummy is swollen and she has sporadic somewhat normal stools and then diarrhea.

Thanks for writing in but so sorry your dog is struggling.
Has he been diagnosed with Chronic Pancreatitis or Acute Pancreatitis? With Acute Pancreatitis you have to be very careful and not give extra enzymes.......

If the gel capsules you buy are not enteric coated, you will need to mess about with the dose. Those capsules don't always make it past the stomach acid.

The enteric coated capsules are made to withstand stomach acid....

For Lypex, the enzymes themselves (ie: capsule contents) is enteric coated. So it's completely fine to sprinkle contents over food. And makes sense, especially when you aren't using a full pill. I do keep a bottle that holds...
