I agree with Patsy, and not to make your head spin, but feeding low fat for EPI is actually old school thinking. Most (but not all.....they are all so different) EPI dogs do just fine on regular fat content food.
See how she does with the switch, keep careful notes so you can track her response.

I don't have any experience with Deramaxx...but I wanted to bump you up in the discussion. I'm hoping someone that does will log on soon and help you out.

Re: New to EPI - Help with Enzyme-Where to buy
I agree, I would be hesitant to change as well since you are finally on the right track.... Some dogs don't show symptoms until they have the TLI numbers that indicate EPI, but every dog is different. It would be interesting to see if the TLI numbers are trending down from one test to the next. It t...

Re: Getting newly diagnosed EPI under control- 11 m/o GSD mix
Most US powdered enzymes require incubation. If you are coming from work and need to pop in quick (like at lunch), you could take your pre portioned meal with you and mix right before you leave work, then it would be ready to feed when you get home. Just a thought. Some people have good luck with pr...

Re: New to EPI - Help with Enzyme-Where to buy
Welcome to the forum, did they ever retest for EPI? Or did y'all just go on symptoms? I would strongly encourage you to retest if you haven't. There have been cases where the pup had symptoms but tested negative....and when the test was repeated after about 6 months or so TLI was positive. The pancr...

Re: Kenzie update
I think Jean steered you away from Chicken because many EPI dogs don't do well with chicken. But some do just fine and if you have so many things she does not tolerate, chicken might be a good protein source for you to try.

Re: Getting newly diagnosed EPI under control- 11 m/o GSD mix
Hi and welcome to the forum. To answer your question about the dosage, it is based on the amount of food given at each meal. Which type of enzymes are you using? This info will help us help you better. Most of the prescription enzymes have the wrong dosage amounts on them. Heavy sigh.... It might be...

Re: TLI is LESS than 1
Hi and welcome to the forum Try not to get too hung up on the TLI result, once the TLI number reaches the level that it is positive for EPI, it really isn't significant that it's below 1, the treatment will be the same..... Jill and Jean have given you good info to start. Plan to retest the B12, ove...

I'm glad you were able to finally find a diagnosis. I'm so sorry you didn't get news you hoped for.
Olesia is a wealth of knowledge and I'm glad she was able to help you.
We can still be here for you for support, even though we can't advise you about CKF.

Re: Sassy says HI and Thank You!!!
Personally I don't order that far in advance, she typically does not have a problem getting enzymes in. She did just have a spell where her supplier had some difficulties with getting 6x, but she always had 8x available. So I don't worry too much about that. I order again when I have about 2 weeks w...
