Re: Grain free
I have not tried feeding grains much after being on grain free. However I do give her snacks as bait for showing her and she has no problems with them. I have started mixing a little grain inclusive food in her grain free for the last couple of days to see what happens and so far she is doing fine.

Grain free
I had posted awhile ago about grain free food and heart problems...I have been hearing more and more about the grain free and it scares me. Some vets are saying to get off of the grain free. What does a person do? My girl has been very stable since she was first diagnosed with epi. She also is a sho...

Re: Grain free food and heart problems
Thank you for info on the grain free and cdm. I had a conversation with Fromm yesterday on their grain free food. I really hate to give it up as my girl has been doing so well on it. Fromm does supplement with Taurine and their foods contain ample levels of cysteine and methionine which dogs use to ...

Grain free food and heart problems
On the national news yesterday and today they have been talking about grain free food causing cardio myelopathy in dogs. This does concern me. With an epi dog what do you do? I feed Fromm Salmon Tunelini which is grain free and my girl does very well on this. I do add a sardine everyday and sometime...

Slippery Elm dosage
Do you give the Slippery Elm once a day or twice? The bottle says morning or evening meals... the epi 4 dogs website says breakfast and dinner. Also how long do you keep them on it? Just trying to settle some gas down.

Re: Gas
I really think that the supplement was causing my problems. She has been off of it for a few days and have noticed the gas isn't quite as often. She still has gas but not as constant. I have slippery Elm on order and will get her started on it when it comes. I really never gave it a thought when I p...

Re: Gas
if it all seemed to start with the supplement.... then you could be right... it could be something about the supplement that is setting her off.... we had one case where it was the gel cap coating that caused the problem!!! Who in the world would have suspected that.... so, you jsut never ever know...

Re: Gas
Her gas doesn't smell like eggs. She does do it more then usual. I might call the Fromm company and check on her food as she has been doing so well on it. I am really wondering about the supplement as it seems this all began when I started it using it. It seems like her system is out of sorts some h...
