Absolutely!
That has certainly been the case with dogs before knowledge was published. Likewise with humans.
Epi is a condition caused by other well known dysfunctions, not a disease .
I will watch my pet chickens’ poop carefully now!

Re: New to the forum
Hi Marie from UK. Thanks to my daughter who lived in Zakynthos for a few years, our family has four Greek rescue dogs and a cat! Luckily all healthy. I talked to a vet over there about epi and he said they too use Zymoral. I just wanted to throw in a question . In the Uk we must not soak our enzyme ...

Re: Dog passing quite hard stool
Hello from Yorkshire I missed your long post in August thanks to grandchildren chaos. You are certainly in the early throes of epi. I think we all despaired and wept. Once the weight goes on , it will get better as the body regains normality from the inside, then the muscles. Your vet, surprisingly,...

Re: New rescue dog in UK with EPI
Hello from Yorkshire, so cross I’ve been asleep on the site for ages. My dog Marti from a long while ago, was a success story too. I can only add my delight at your care and success, what a beautiful cocker! I had a black cocker and am still active on Cockersonline. I regularly reply to cocker owner...

Re: Sad outcome
It’s a dilemma whether to tell them on these situations.
My lady obviously felt something hadn’t been done, but trusted the vet. She said they may talk to the vet practice when they get over losing him, for the sake of other dogs and cats.

Sad outcome
I read on another forum of a dog with maldigestion and weight loss. Scans and blood counts fine. I contacted them , but was a day too late, his quality of life was too bad. The owner was very open about the vets’ care, and had even suggested an enzyme treatment instead of the vets choice of gut supp...

Re: Foul Gas
Re SId/Sibo I’ve not heard of testing for it.the bowel noises and gas is from fermenting food in the gut and needs specific antibiotics . Pre and Probiotics are good , but in these cases are best used after the prescription meds to restore and maintain normal gut health.

Re: Foul Gas
Foul gas and rumbles that send people running out of the room is SID to me. The enzymes won’t change it. Only antibiotics can fix it.
What started it ? Hard to say, it lurks in dogs eating commercial food too. I found that the stink came before any change in the poop, so I went straight to the vet.

Re: PLE ?
I have no experience with enzymediane because I am in the Uk. But one teaspoon with a quarter of a cup of food sounds too much time.
Can someone in the US shine a light on that for me please.Too much enzyme will be caustic and cause inflammatory problems like this surely. Though not PLE.

Re: PLE ?
Your vet sounds sensible, and adding an antacid would help, if you check with them for the dose . With the inflammation I would not give any carrot or sweetcorn. Being indigestible, they could irritate or cause blockages. My dog had PLE when she started EPI. The PLE almost caused organ failure. Prot...
