Re: PLE ?

I have no experience with enzymediane because I am in the Uk. But one teaspoon with a quarter of a cup of food sounds too much time.
Can someone in the US shine a light on that for me please.Too much enzyme will be caustic and cause inflammatory problems like this surely. Though not PLE.

Re: PLE ?

Your vet sounds sensible, and adding an antacid would help, if you check with them for the dose . With the inflammation I would not give any carrot or sweetcorn. Being indigestible, they could irritate or cause blockages. My dog had PLE when she started EPI. The PLE almost caused organ failure. Prot...

Re: How do I fight this battle for my dog?

I really feel for you, we’ve all been desperate at first. Have I missed something? Is he on antibiotics for SIBO? If he has irritation in the bowel, has the vet considered using a short course of steroids,. At least they are cheap and effective for some inflammation . Does he have manic craving for ...

Re: At my wits end - help please

My dog refused food with enzyme powder. I tried a flat plate to dissipate the smell, and disguising it. I hand fed her. Then I used capsules which worked for her. The powder is caustic and lurks under floppy jowls, causing irritation. I’m in the the UK where we can buy ready made capsules. On anothe...

That’s heartbreaking.
A awful experience but you had so much love for her.
You did everything you could

Re: Poop 😬

Has the food got visible peas in it, that you could remove? Otherwise it’s a good food for epi. I tried the ArdenGrange dry version with my dog but it didnt agree, it had chicken oil in it.
Is the poop sometimes dark on the outside and yellow inside?

Re: hi new puppy with epi

My internet is rubbish today, two answers of mine have disappeared. she’s tiny and so young! When she is able to eat kibble, this is ok and stocked in Pets at Home. Not pricey. I’m not sure about the nasty powder flavour. https://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/searchterm?searchTerm=Fishermans%20fin...

Re: hi new puppy with epi

Hello from Sheffield. What a desperate situation, you have done everything right and your vets are doing their best . We know that they rarely see epi , so it’s impressive that they have diagnosed it this quickly. However, we can help you with the collective experience of everyone here. It does soun...

Slippery elm suddenly trendy

I went to an up-market supermarket today and looked at the dog food aisle. I was surprised to see that the ‘posh’ foods were highlighting the latest magic ingredient on the packaging. Slippery elm in all of them! I hope this doesn’t mean the prices go up even more. Will they realise that they can ac...

Re: Recently diagnosed GSD

Hello, glad you’re getting your head round it. The epi dogs must feel so lousy (ill) at diagnosis. I can only emphasise strongly that Lypex works beautifully if given at a higher dose. Marti should have weighed 24kg, but dropped to 17 kg. Similar to Reva’s weight. No way could she improve on less th...
