Re: NINA
I can understand the "last minute regret". But I don't think its regret so much as excitement and worry. And yes, if you didn't take her, you would have regretted it and perhaps never forgiven yourself. Rylee is doing much better than she was before enzymes. Still some food in the poop, bu...

Re: When to test...please help advise
Ok. Thanks. That makes sense. That's why it took Chance so long to become somewhat stable. He went undiagnosed for far too long. She's early in terms of symptoms. If treated properly, she might be much easier to get stable. But then basically by that logic, even if she doesn't have EPI, I have to ke...

Re: When to test...please help advise
Thank you Olesia. I will try to get her in on Tuesday morning. I did think weight would pretty much always be the first symptom. Perhaps I am wrong. I am not giving B12 before the test; I want to know the numbers before. Are you suggesting that I not inject at all before results; or should I give on...

Re: When to test...please help advise
Sorry, my initial message should read "I don't think an EPI dog could *maintain* weight" she has not gained weight. (Only lost a couple pounds. But her body condition is good).

Re: When to test...please help advise
The enzymes have been an absolute game changer, so far. As of this morning, there's only a couple of tiny pieces of food in the poop. Color is back to normal. It was a perfect size and perfect consistency. (She was very proud of herself for passing that! She looked at it quickly then got the crazy z...

When to test...please help advise
I am looking for advice for best time to test. I'm concerned that (IF EPI is possible), it's very early stages, possibly too early for blood levels to catch up? And the cost of the test is much higher than it was a few years ago  I'll try to be brief (not good at that) - 6 months old. Yellow ...

Re: NINA
Speaking from personal experience when I had to fight my vet for help with SID and ultimately go to a different vet; giving extra enzymes was a must when he was flared. But I never gave that much! Extra enzymes helped cope with symptoms some. We'd get formed poops, but still yellow. It was a bandaid...

Re: NINA
Very sorry about Tucker. I do understand the pain of losing a heart dog. It hurts. It hurts bad.
I hope Nina settles in quickly with no serious setbacks!

Re: Somewhat seasoned; but new dog
No worries. I knew those were plant based. But don't know that plant based could help digest this degree of undigested meat and fat. I started enzymes at dinner last night. She had one poop this morning that was smaller, but still mostly food. No poop since this morning, which is a good sign. I figu...

Re: Somewhat seasoned; but new dog
I think I might try the enzymes. It's not good to keep this rate of nutrition. Even if it's not EPI, if they can help for a bit, it's worth it. If it causes problems, I can stop them..
