Re: Panakare vs. Enzymediane

Welcome, Mike, to you and Izzy. Pam gave you a very good summary of EPI treatment as you get started. The beginning is the hardest stage because everything is so new, but it will get easier as you get those four cornerstones in balance. It helps to keep a log/journal of everything you give Izzy each...

Re: sugar's lab results GSD, spayed, 17mos

Hi Jan, A very warm welcome to you and Sugar. You have received excellent advice already. Ask any questions that you have. Try not to feel too overwhelmed. It's a lot of new information to absorb, but it will get easier as you get more familiar with the treatment. With your background, you won't hav...

Re: Newly diagnosed dog in distress

Brian,

I am so glad to read this! You must be relieved to have her back, although I am sure you would love to have some more information about what caused this strange episode. Sometimes it is better to just accept the gift.

Let us know how she does.

Re: Newly diagnosed dog in distress

I am sure they checked for bloat, but the fact that she feels pain when touched makes me wonder if she could have partial bloating from gas or food in her stomach. Did they rule out bloat? Usually the gas gets worse and proceeds to the stomach twisting if the gas is not removed but I wonder if there...

Re: Newly diagnosed dog in distress

I am so glad Lucy is being seen. Please let us know what you find out. I’m sure this is nerve wracking for you. Fingers crossed it is something simple.

Re: Newly diagnosed dog in distress

It seems to me that this would qualify as a situation that would put you at the head of that 4-6 hour wait if you forcefully describe Lucy’s symptoms to the substitute vet and ask for advice

How is Lucy now?

Re: Newly diagnosed dog in distress

Hi Brian, I am sorry you are going through this with Lucy. My first suggestion of course would be to get her to a vet. But I do have a question. Was she given metronidazole by any chance? It is an antibiotic that is oft en prescribed for bacterial issues and some dogs experience serious side effects...

Re: New Here - Maverick's Journey

Congratulations, Jess! That was some fine detective work you did. Mav is certainly lucky to have landed with you. You are doing all the right things and it is obviously showing. Maverick is doing amazingly well. It took us much longer to get everything in balance when we were going through this with...

Re: Phoebe, Chronic Pancreatitis and Voracious/Starving

Debra, I am so sorry that you had to say goodbye to Phoebe. You took such loving care of her. It is such a privilege to be able to spend those last days and moments with our dogs. It is a profound experience. I am so glad you had caring people around you to support you. I have found that the experie...
