Slippery Elm For Non-EPI Cat?
Montgomery's half-sister-cousin-auntie, Sylvia Rose...I think I posted about her before, if not, I now know what is causing her diarrhea. She has an allergy which requires her to be on an anthistamine at times. She was on it until we had a couple of good killing frosts. When I took her off it, her d...

Re: Which Probiotic/Prebiotic to start with
How? Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but someone with EPI has to have enzymes with each meal, and thus, everything they eat is controlled. Montgomery lives with eight other cats who all eat different things, but I know everything that he's intested, how much, and when.

Re: mini fits
If it is an epeleptic fit, it is perfectly treatable, and they can live perfectly normal lives.

Re: mini fits
Falpie has seizures and recovers quickly, eats like a horse and is perfectly normal. He does not have EPI. His seizures began with twitching of nose and whiskers and escalated to convulsions. He is well-medicated but has the odd break-out. The veterinarian said that each time he has a fit it carves ...

Re: Too Old?
I'll check it out. I've tried Forti-Flora with her before and Adored Beast Gut Soothe. The Forti-Flora she only ate once and would never touch it again; the Gut Soothe I was able to put into a capsule but it didn't seem to do anything either way.

Too Old?
I'm beginning to wonder if Sylvia Rose has a bit of the family ick. She is a blood relation to Montgomery but has always been quite sound. The last little bit, though, she has had the foulest smelling diarrhea. Her apetite is quite good. She is a healthy weight. She just turned sixteen last month.

Re: Help, itchy skin out of control
A word of caution when it comes to sprays. I wish I could remember what it was called but it was pretty distinctive. A white spray bottle with pink lettering that the veterinarian said worked like Advantage (spray once, spreads itself, lasts, apparantly). Don't do it.

Re: Help, itchy skin out of control
Question...It's impossible to feed Montgomery oil, too, but his naturopath told me to feed him eggs. Could this be an option?

Re: Help, itchy skin out of control
Cap her nails to prevent her doing as much damage. You can get them online and they slip over the nails and are glued on. I've had some very itchy foster cats and it really, really helps. Chlorhexadine shampoo can help, if you haven't tried that. Follow the directions to the letter if you do. We use...
