Re: Gaining Weight Help!

I bought a collar tag for Marti that said Do not Feed Me . I have Epi, call vet. The only times she sneaked away was to eat the neighbours outdoor cat food Then she got the runs! I’d have never thought of protein powder for dogs. The only issue to me would be the ingredients which vary wildly; milk ...

Re: Gaining Weight Help!

Baked sweet potato has higher calories than plain spuds, and are easier to digest. Are you feeding extra meals+ enzymes. To gain weight, three meals a day would be a minimum. 50% extra food a day,, as you probably know. Otherwise there may be an expert here who can advise on a different enzyme regim...

Re: B-12 Supplementation - 3 questions please

Your vet is judging the B12 as for non -epi dog. Ours need it at about 600. Higher makes no difference because it gets wee’d out. Another injection at least, would be desirable, then a daily tablet. When my dog had low B12, she was lethargic, depressed, and mentally confused (brain fog), unable to u...

Re: Possible EPI - please help

Hello from Yorkshire,I had an epi dog for years and now one of my present dogs has a sensitive digestion , prone to colitis bleeding . After trial and error with commercial foods, I now use raw/home cook for both of them . His guts are perfect again. There are plenty guides online with the proportio...

Re: Struggling, help with GSD please

I hope your appointment with Julian went ok. He seems to be caring and open minded . As an agricultural vet he will be familiar with the antibiotic Tylan and might allow you to sign a disclaimer to use it. Give this website to swot up on . Many many vets have no experience of it. Another thought re ...

Re: Struggling, help with GSD please

Hi from Yorkshire You’ve had some good advice . I’ve looked at comments on Pro-enzorb and they suggest that it can be used at one capsule to 100gm of food. So a lot needed for a GSD. So you could double your dose, no problems. It is like Lypex in that they are cautious with doseage instructions . Ma...

Re: Lypex dosing and smelly poop

Hello and welcome In the U.K. I found capsules suited my springer spaniel better than powder. She wouldn’t eat powdered enzymes. So I used Lypex, an excellent product except for the misleading instructions. We have had conversations with them about this, to no avail. I used 4 Lypex per day. , whethe...

Re: Newly diagnosed EPI

Welcome to you all. Where do you live? I own a tiny poodle cross too though non-epi. I appreciate how careful you have to be to give them the right amount of food. My epi dog ,a spaniel , took a while to stabilise but regained all weight and long life. You’ve done brilliant homework and got great ad...
