Re: Epi results came in. Very confused
Hi, I've been reading your thread and noticed some things in common. We had GI problems with our St. Bernard Finn since we adopted him. He had low B12, so we gave him shots as prescribed for months and thought everything would be better. It didn't get better. The shots worked at first, sort of, but ...

Re: Another Finn Update
Finn went in for another ultrasound recheck in November. His clot didn’t return, but there is still an area with a thickened wall in the one femoral artery. His Xarelto dosage has been cut in half, which means 1/2 the cost. Yay! He will likely remain on the Clopidogrel forever and the dosage for Xar...

Re: Another Finn Update
We are going to get a bladder ultrasound at the same time he gets rechecked for the clot next week. Couldn't get a sooner appointment. He doesn't really urinate for as long as he used to. He pawed at his face a couple days ago and I thought he had bumps over both eyes, so he got some Zyrtec and they...

YAY!! Congrats on Roxanne's adoption. It's wonderful she was saved from the shelter, properly diagnosed, is recovering well and now has a new home.

Re: Another Finn Update
Finn’s blood work and urinalysis look good. Kidney values are all normal, including SDMA. Cardiopet BNP was good too. Items out of reference range were: Magnesium was slightly high: 1.03 (0.7-1.0) Total Bilirubin was slightly high: 5.7 (1-5.13) , but that’s not the highest it’s ever been tested for ...

Re: Another Finn Update
My husband is hoping that is the case. His allergic reaction is resolved, whatever it was. He got 2 doses of Zyrtec and was greatly improved after only one dose. Only a few tiny wounds remain in his ears and those are healing over. The incontinence remains unfortunately. Not as much as the one night...

Re: Another Finn Update
Another new problem: Incontinence. He urinated on his dog bed this afternoon during his nap. Soaked it quite a bit. He was licking himself and that's how I noticed he and the bed were wet. I got him to go outside and saw he peed out there too. I wiped him down with a damp cloth and and dried him off...

Re: Another Finn Update
Thanks everyone. The allergy info is helpful. So I don't confuse anyone further I realized Zrytec and Reactine are the same thing, both Cetirizine. It's called Reactine in Canada. His new ear drops are ProOticHC, with hydrocortisone. We regularly clean his ears with ProOtic ear solution minus the HC...

Re: Another Finn Update
Another night of sleeping soundly. We put more drops in his ears but otherwise haven't given him another dose of Reactine or tried the Apoquel. Really, it's just fear holding us back. Our vet is not in the office today. He's acting normally again, except maybe a little more quiet/tired. Only shaking...
