Re: Phoebe, Chronic Pancreatitis and Voracious/Starving

I had to avoid purines at all cost to keep Mickey from forming urate bladder stones.Dense Meats and organ meats were not on his list. His protein was mostly eggs, cottage cheese, low fat ricotta cheese. Proteins are hardest to digest. To help the pancreas in pancreatitis usually during active bouts ...

Re: Phoebe, Chronic Pancreatitis and Voracious/Starving

Debra, for another protein I used with Mickey was low fat cottage cheese with the rice. When he got high blood pressure I switched to half low sodium cottage cheese.

Re: New EPI Dog - Where do I buy powder?

Wow that report sounds great! So nice to hear of the weight gain also.
I would read this link from the website. Maybe print it out for the vet. I would suspect the 30-45 day course is to make sure SID is well under control. Tylan can be used for life as needed.

Re: Phoebe, Chronic Pancreatitis and Voracious/Starving

Hi Debra. Have you ever tried overcooked white rice and a small amount of cooked lean beef burger? The simpler you can keep the diet for a pancreatic dog the better. I used Jasmine rice as it is easy to reheat and easy for the dog to pick up. Then boil burger and make sure to drain on paper towel. F...

Re: New EPI Dog - Where do I buy powder?

Hi Andy, get some empty gel caps at the pharmacy or off Amazon and put the dose in those. Yell the pharmacist the dose and they can help with capsule size. Or google capsule size chart.
Put in cream cheese or the likes.

Re: Sudden change in poop…I’m worried

Could be SID/SIBO flaring up. I would ask the vet for a 45 day course of Tylan. Or have him write an Rx and send to Chewy and get a bottle.

Twice a day dosing for dog weight:

Re: Newly Diagnoised

What a great report! I am so glad the new food is working out. It is so awesome to see them enjoying their mealtime.

Nice job on the B12.
