Re: Diabetes and EPI- What to Feed?
Hi Pam, Olesia has had a few things keeping her away from the forum for a few days, but I will try to answer at least some of your questions, and I'll ask her to take a look at your most recent post when she gets a chance. B12 - Is she getting any B12 supplements right now and do you know what her B...

Re: Dog treats
Hi Patricia! Sorry for the late reply. It's hard to put the enzymes on a pre-made treat like that, but there are other options. We don't recommend treats at all until your dog has been stable for a couple months, just to make sure they are doing well before starting something that could make them ba...

Re: New Diagnosis - Please help!
Andrea, What wonderful news that Blu is back to his normal self and has gained a good amount of weight! What is his goal weight? It sounds like you have a good plan in place, with some possible tweaks to the food as Olesia mentioned. The only other thing I can add is that when he's at his goal weigh...

Re: WE ARE A FAMILY
l am incredibly grateful to be a part of this amazing EPI family. I have had so much support from EPI members, both staff and non-staff members, since I first joined the forum 9 years ago. It's very comforting to know I have such a wonderful resource available to me, and that so many people are here...

Re: Red tongue
Some people have done other things to make sure the enzymes get rinsed out of the mouth after they eat, too. Some suggestions are to wipe her lips with a wet cloth after she eats; use a squirt bottle to rinse the inside of her mouth out after she eats; drop a few kibbles or treats into her water bow...

Re: Red tongue
The article Jill posted is interesting. I have had one experience with a very red tongue, but I doubt it's going to help you any. Many years ago, a non-EPI dog I had developed a very red tongue. If I remember right I noticed it right after he had a dental cleaning at the vet's office. I asked the ve...

Re: Tylosin In Canada
Olesia provided the information on ordering tylan below on another post a couple weeks ago. The VetOne product apparently is available for your vet to order directly from them, with shipping available to the following: American Samoa, Canada, Guam, Philippines, Puerto Rico, United States, and U.S. V...

Re: Amount of Enzymes
Jill is right...no need to retest the TLI, as she will always be EPI, so there's no point. Your vet has recommended the correct protocol for B12 injections...once a week for 6 weeks, then once a month. We know that EPI dogs usually need supplementation for life. We used to recommend retesting 30 day...

Re: Possible EPI
Hi Ollie's Mom, Jill is our resident expert on the pancreatitis front. I second her suggestion to have the cTLI test done if you can. It's a blood test, so it's not too terribly expensive or invasive. He will need to be fasted for 8-12 hours before the test. Here's what little I know about pancreati...
