Re: Reflux

My Dane has malabsorption, chronic pancreatitis and SID. She cannot go long stretches between meals. She doesn't always make it until I get home from work. We have tried many things over the years to reduce reflux but she gets nausea between meals and will vomit bile. We have tried pepcid 2x/day and...

Re: TLI is LESS than 1

You are in good hands. This is the best website for information and sounds like you have a vet that is knowledgeable.

No worries. Recommend using a journal to write down food, enzymes and poop quality to help keep it all straight.

The Honest Kitchen--NEW, Whole Food Clusters

Great company with many varieties that do not have peas. However..... New product: Whole food clusters. All 3 formulas have peas as the 3rd ingredient and Fiber is 5%. This might not be a great choice for your EPI dog but might be a good option for dogs that do not have EPI. Currently, not yet avail...

Re: BLOAT----GDV familiarize yourself with the symptoms again

Jake went back to the vet on Thursday night since he wasn't eating. Very weird for a lab not wanting to eat. Vet gave him Hill's Prescription A/D and he ate right out of her hands. Also, took him off the Fentanyl patch which I think was the main issue. He is back to eating but small meals 3-4x/day. ...

Re: BLOAT----GDV familiarize yourself with the symptoms again

Hi All, He came home yesterday lunch time and vet was hoping getting him home would get him to eat. It has not worked. To have my big chocolate lab not eat is a bit distressing. He is on Fentanyl and I looked up the side effects that includes no appetite. I am thinking it could be the next weight lo...

BLOAT----GDV familiarize yourself with the symptoms again

Just a post to keep this always on our mind. I came home yesterday afternoon from being out of town and noticed that my non-EPI Chocolate Lab was literally bloated. He was otherwise acting fine except maybe moving a little slow. Of course, I was moving around the house getting things out of the car....

Re: Kenzie more problems

My girl gets FirstMate dry dog food mixed with her homemade food. It doesn't have peas but not sure if all formulas don't have peas. We order from OnlyNaturalPet.com.

FirstMate is made in Canada.

Re: Never Give Up

i see you found SportDog food. I tried to see if they had a low fat version but they were all too high in fat for my Dane with Pancreatitis. Currently, found a pea free food from Canada.

Anyone ever try FirstMate pacific grain-free. Seems to be working for my dogs right now.

Re: Looking to Re-home

My Great Dane has to have enzymes. I could not do it financially without Enzyme Diane. Not at all. So glad, since she is such a great dog. No behavior issues. Just amazing.

Hope that Lucky finds a great home. I saw the posting on FB.

Re: Kenzie more problems

I have 2 dogs with food allergies. My big chocolate lab kept going to the vet with skin, itching and hair loss. Ears itchy and infected. They gave me ointment for the ears......and told to bathe him everyday and they gave me an 8 oz. bottle of shampoo for a 70# dog. That bottle cost $15.00. So, he e...
