Vet visit today
Re: Vet visit today
Good on all that!
Mickey was put on enzymes and it helped a lot. It took around 6mos for his Tli to come down around 25, so normal. However, his Pli remained over 1000 so his pancreatitis turned chronic.
The Hills food is a good choice for the pancreatitis. Also the Royal Canin gastro low fat
is a good choice. A lot of time Mick would have slime coating his poop. Olesia mentioned to me about Tylan so I put him on a 2 times a day routine and it cleared it up.
Also I was able to reduce the amount of enzymes per meal.

Re: Vet visit today
Okay thank you for all your help we’ve been having a real rough time with all of this. It’s so hard to watch my sweet girl lose all this weight and get diarrhea daily and regurgitate at least a few times a day. I’d cry tears of joy if I could get one normal poop out of her.
Re: Vet visit today
Please feel free to ask questions and we look forward to hearing an update. These unsettling times of constant tweaking the diet, meds, enzymes to help them can be trying.
We just want our furry family members to feel better!

Re: Vet visit today
We do know how hard it is to see our pups uncomfortable. Getting everything to balance so they feel better doesn't always come easy with some pups.... You are doing a great job. Hopefully, a few more pieces of the puzzle will fit and will lead to solutions.
Hang in there.

Re: Vet visit today
So these are her pancreatic test results. We’re visiting a new vet currently to see if we can get any other suggestions

Re: Vet visit today
No need to thank me but the new vet wants no more antibiotics and instead all probiotics and enzymes.
Re: Vet visit today
Did your vet say anything about the high PTH and low calcium(I see low Calcium was discussed earlier)? Sometimes a underlying condition (not sure if pancreatitis can cause this)can cause secondary hyperparathyroidism, causing the high PTH low Calcium scenario.
Were full blood labs run plus a urinalysis at the visit? If so, will you post all the results?
So as long as your pup is not having an acute attack of pancreatitis probiotics are ok.
I need to go back in your posts for antibiotic information.
