Olesia, I just received the enzymes (Diane) and we started them yesterday. As of today he definitely had a couple of poops that were thicker—-still soft piles tho. He definitely didn’t poop as many times as he has been.
How long does it take on enzymes before you see results? Im so grossed out because he is eating his poop almost right after he goes (so disgusting!) I know it’s part of EPI but I wish it’d go away ASAP!

Can you take Felix out on leash so he can't eat his poop for now?

R.I.P. Nikki 11/21/2009 - 05/23/2023

Nikki was diagnosed with EPI in 2010
Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Low Fat canned
Slippery Elm syrup for stomach issues
1 tsp Pan-Tenex enzymes with each meal
Weekly B12 shots, pills didn't work for her
Tylan for life

Leash walking is a good idea, but if not possible, again, I feel your pain. It took Tucker awhile before he could be trusted to leave poo alone. He never met a pile he didn't love. But, like all his other habits, such as devouring rolls of toilet paper, eye glasses, and unpaid bills, the poo eating eventually fell by the wayside. Just keep in mind, he has been literally starving, and he is still trying to save his own life. He'll be OK.

Are you addressing SID & B12 deficiency? I'm gonna send you a PM. ---Pam
Tucker was a shepherd/lab mix--- TLI 1.3, Folate 9.7, Cobalamin 666, Lipase 38. Took Diane's Enzymes 4 teaspoons/day, Wonderlabs B12 one capsule per day, and Tylan 1/16 teaspoon/ morning (to hold SID at bay). Taste of the Wild High Prairie, 1 1/2 cups/day, with a total of 4 cups of Fresh Pet. Stopped eating everything in sight, and went from 60 to 85 pounds! Tucker was my boyfriend, and my husband was OK with that. Tucker succumbed to hemangiosarcoma, but we cherished every day we had with that wonderful, beautiful boy. I will always, always miss my sweet big boy.

I have some good news! Felix has finally had normal poops for a day and a half!!!! :D Still greenish tho. He seems to be feeling so much better now that he’s been on the enzymes. I’m also going to start giving him B12.

AWESOME! Hopefully, they'll start turning brown, as the old stuff moves out of his system.

Felix is back to having diarrhea :o he started yesterday and again this morning. I’m still waiting for the B12 to arrive. Do you think the diarrhea will start to clear up again when he’s on the B12?

Hi Jaime,

Sometimes it takes time to get everything balanced—the food, the enzymes, the B12, the antibiotics. As Pam said, keeping a record of everything you give Felix will help you to see what needs to be adjusted. When you give him the B 12, watch for the resulting poos each day to see what is affecting him. To determine his transit time, Put a skinny piece of carrot in his food, then look for it in his poo (it doesn’t digest)and that will tell you his transit time ….how long it takes his food to pass through his system.

Hang in there. The beginning stage is the hardest. You are doing great. He is one handsome boy!
