Greetings,
My Harper girl was diagnosed back in June and after some suggestions from this group, made progress. She had been stable since mid-August. About 10 days ago she had diarrhea, yellow cow patty like stuff she had before diagnosis. I had not made any changes but she does get to go off leash (supervised of course) so it is possible that she ate something she shouldn’t have. The consistency has improved but its still not right. Her current regime is this: 1.25 cups of Taste of the wild, ancient grains twice a day
1.75 tsp of pancreatin enzymes (about 1.25 tsp per cup of food seems to be her sweet spot)
One B12 pill and a packet of probiotics in the evening.
I started her on slippery elm yesterday and so far no improvement. I know I should wait a few more days on the SE and see if it takes hold, but I wondered if anyone had advice if that does not work?
The stool has been pale, fairly loose, and a bit more voluminous. The frequency hasn’t increased, and a few of them have been a bit oily. I have attached a picture.
Thank you so much!
Flare up?
Re: Flare up?
Good morning Alexis. It does sound like SID. I would try the SE protocol and if it doesn't clear it up you might need to go to Tylan for management.

I do see the food has sorghum, millet and barley and one or all of those might be interfering with the enzymes. Just a thought.

Re: Flare up?
It sounds like SID to me, too, especially since the stool starts to look pretty good, but can't improve past a certain point. I would give the SE a couple more days and then try the tylosin protocol.
Let us know how she does.
