Most of us have heard of xylitol artificial sweetener, present in chewing gum, many diet foods, cake mixes, human toothpaste and more.
It is now being rebranded as Birch sugar, which is correct for it being an extract of the birch tree. This makes it sound more friendly as a natural foodstuff, so it could be easy to buy foods containing it by mistake.
Another reason not to give dogs human titbits.

Springer spaniel Marti had Epi, PLE , MMM just to confuse me. She lived till 12yrs, chubby and happy despite eight years of epi.
Capsule enzymes suited her best. B12 supplements made her into a new dog!
After a cocker with PLN kidney disease, I now have two healthy rescues, a lively, suicidal , small ginger terrier, adopted with pneumonia, and gum disease needing nearly all his teeth out, and a fluffy grey toy poodle/terrier from Greece.

Thanks, Patsy. This is SUCH good information to have & to share. --- Pam
Tucker was a shepherd/lab mix--- TLI 1.3, Folate 9.7, Cobalamin 666, Lipase 38. Took Diane's Enzymes 4 teaspoons/day, Wonderlabs B12 one capsule per day, and Tylan 1/16 teaspoon/ morning (to hold SID at bay). Taste of the Wild High Prairie, 1 1/2 cups/day, with a total of 4 cups of Fresh Pet. Stopped eating everything in sight, and went from 60 to 85 pounds! Tucker was my boyfriend, and my husband was OK with that. Tucker succumbed to hemangiosarcoma, but we cherished every day we had with that wonderful, beautiful boy. I will always, always miss my sweet big boy.

Re: Poison
oh wow... thanks Patsy for bringing this to our attention.......
Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........
Re: Poison
Thank you, Patsy, for this information. It is good to do a check periodically, especially during holidays. I don't usually have grapes in the house but they were bought for the holidays......i sent them home with relatives without dogs.
I also just did a check of the plants I have in my house and found one that is in the lily family, which I didn't realize. Madison never bothers with it, but I am not taking any chances. It's good to do a review every so often.
