Small Simethecone

For anyone else with tiny hairballs out there...Montgomery takes Ovol to stop painful gas from getting trapped in his small intestine. Ovol is made for colicky infants, and the active ingredient is Simethecone. I just found out that the larger bottles are on back order. I was able to get a couple of bottles from one pharmacy, while our regular pharmacy was able to order some small ones that I should be able to pick up to-morrow. I checked with his veterinarian and there is no substitution available for someone so small. So, if you're reliant on this stuff like he is, heads-up...

Thank you for the heads up. So many shortages.

We used simethecone for Kolby after he bloated...but he was 85 pounds and we were able to use Gas-X gelcaps which are too large for Montgomery. I hope supplies come in.

Thanks. He's good for awhile now. I usually have an open bottle and a spare, and when I open the spare, a I buy a new spare and I've never had a problem. Now I have four spares, and when I open one, I'll replace it. I've always said CYA is our motto. The girls at his clinic are really good about tracking things down, and there just isn't anything else. I'm hoping to be able to get him off of it. He's way less gassy without the kibble in his life, but we're still in the middle of a major food transition so I don't want to do more than one thing at a time.
