So sorry your sensitive boy is suffering with skin troubles! I have no good suggestions, just so excited to be able to post on this wonderful new forum!
Elisabeth

Riley is a 10 year old Labradoodle. She was diagnosed with EPI in 2014.
She currently eats Taste of the Wild, I cup in the morning, 2 cups in the evening, each meal with 1 Wonderlabs B12 sprinkled over her dinner. Enzymes are EnzymeDiane, 1 tsp per cup of food, mixed in home made bone broth. No other supplements or meds at this time.
Riley currently weighs about 44 pounds, which is pretty heavy for her.

Love Riley's picture!

UPDATE: I gave Doc a bath twice within a few days with Duoxo shampoo (has chlorhexadine in it) and for the past two days I've rinsed him thoroughly with plain water when he's done for the day with the pool. Seems to have made a big difference. Even his coat feels better after rinsing him off - don't know why I never thought of it before but makes sense to get the chemicals off - duh!
Madelon, owned by DOC. DOC dx EPI 5/2015 = TLI < .4, B12 406; Folate >24. DOC taught me so much and together we battled and overcame EPI, food sensitivies, environmental allergies but we lost the cancer battle. DOC was dx with hemangiosarcoma 5/2022 and crossed the rainbow bridge July 24, 2022. He is and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my heart dog.

Good news! :D
They always hose Maya off after she’s been in the underwater treadmill, so yeah, I guess getting the chemicals off is a good idea.

Sometimes the simplest things elude us - or at least me

Doc is on antihistamines 24/7 as well!! He's such a delicate flower - but the pool is good for his joints and for cooling him off in this heat - he LOVES it - so as usual - it's up to me to be a more diligent mom and do what I need to in order to help him

I WISH Riley would swim....we come to the lake quite frequently and all play in the water. Except for Riley. Both my daughters have dogs that swim as well. So everyone here, both 2 and 4 legged, are in the lake except for Riley. Once I even put a life jacket on her and put her in the water. She quickly got out and shunned me for the rest of the day to punish me for my actions.
She likes the boat, but won't jump off with us when we stop and swim. At least she patiently waits for us to get back on the boat, she doesn't bark or carry on. She's just not a swimmer.....heavy sigh.

You could try chamomile tea - here''s a link from the Chewy website https://www.chewy.com/petcentral/health ... to-use-it/
