Measurement - Cups ( weight? volume? wet food? )
Measurement - Cups ( weight? volume? wet food? )
Are the measurements in cups dry cups (weight) or volume? Also, if volume, then how do I determine cups for wet food given that density changes measurement? HELP!

for dry food (kibble) the measurement is listed on the back of the package. Use a measuring cup
for wet food (canned) also just use a measuring cup.
If trying to decide how much enzymes to give with either wet or dry food. Rule of thumb is to start with
1 level tsp of enzymes per 1 cup of dry food
1/2 to 3/4 level tsp of enzymes per 1 cup of wet food
Watch the poos for a few days and adjust the enzyme dose accordingly if needed. Usually we adjust up (by 1/8 of a tsp at a time) ... but sometimes, we have to adjust down by 1/8 tsp at a time)
Keep an EPI log/Journal / good notes to help you figure out what works and what doesn't and then what adjustments you might need to make
for wet food (canned) also just use a measuring cup.

Re: Measurement - Cups ( weight? volume? wet food? )
Olesia7: thank you for your reply, but I am not sure it's answering the question. Wet ounces are different than dry ounces. So, are you (and ALL others) saying use volume (liquid) or weight? For reference, from the internet:
"It is important to note that volume ounces are not the same as weight ounces. Liquids and other wet ingredients will likely be measured in volume ounces while dry ingredients (like beans, flour, or sugar) will be measured in weight ounces. On packaged goods, volume ounces are listed as ‘NET OZ FL’ where FL stands for fluid and weight ounces are listed as ‘NET WT OZ’ where WT stands for weight. To convert between volume and weight measurements you would need to know the density of the ingredient, so this is not done often."
I understand how much enzyme to use once I get the answer to this.

i understand what you are asking and the difference between wet and dry weights & volume...i assumed you were asking to to know what the appropriate amount of enzymes would be with which measurement of which type of food.
We allow for density via the amount of enzymes given due to the type of food, wet or dry. We do not measure by the density of the food.
Therefore:
with 1 cup of dry food = 1 tsp of enzymes
with 1 cup of wet food = 1/2 tsp-3/4 tsp enzymes

Re: Measurement - Cups ( weight? volume? wet food? )
this question has been the bane of my life for long time
the US work in pounds , cups etc
the UK does not
we work in kilos and grams
e.g 1. cup = 8.325 imperial ouces (liquid)
1 cup kibble is equal to 8 ounces which is = to 224 grams ish
etc etc
does any of this answer your question

My Kara born 21 July 2009 diagnosed with EPI by cTLI test August 2010 TLI = <1...folate 14 Cobalamin 408, shot down to 94, b12 injections every other day
Lowest weight 39 pounds
We used Panzym enzymes, Tylan and Chemeyes b12 capsules
Sadly, on 10th May 2019, we lost her to DM

Jean.... the lady was asking about measurement in relation to food density....
HOWEVER.... just general measurement comparisons is a great idea ... i'll work on putting something together
