We at Epi4Dogs often hone in on food allergies or food sensitivities in relation to IBD along with SID/dysbiosis. HOWEVER….. we all may be better served by broadening our understanding of this. Not all food sensitivities/allergies have the same trigger.
Oct-2018, Published in the Journal of Small Animal Practice (British Small Animal Veterinary Assoc) is a really good article on a variety of causes of Food Intolerance. If your dog is struggling with this, i strongly urge reading this article. I have uploaded the chart and the article on our IBD and Allergy page:

Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

Re: 12-2018 Food Intolerance possibilities
Thanks Olesia. So many of us do have dogs that suffer with food intolerances which can sometimes make finding the right food even more difficult. Thank you for always being on top of the issues that matter most to our pups and helping us navigate through things.
Madelon, owned by DOC. DOC dx EPI 5/2015 = TLI < .4, B12 406; Folate >24. DOC taught me so much and together we battled and overcame EPI, food sensitivies, environmental allergies but we lost the cancer battle. DOC was dx with hemangiosarcoma 5/2022 and crossed the rainbow bridge July 24, 2022. He is and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my heart dog.

Re: 12-2018 Food Intolerance possibilities
What i found interesting is that sometimes it is not a "food" protein source like we automatically assume and suggest a hydrolyzed food (although this works often).......but rather it can also be
1. pharmacological (and this includes things like chemicals in certain nuts/seeds) or
2. a carb sensitivity....
3. or a toxin that triggered everything or
4. it can be something that was fine before but not any longer due to permeability.................
5. etc, etc. etc.
These are just some of the things that we don't think of but if we had this information to begin with it just might help us more readily figure out what the trigger is.

Ian told us that anything, and everything that is introduced into the body can cause a reaction, most of it dealt with by the immune system
however, unfortunately, our dogs suffer from a deficiency, known as Immunodeficiency
we certainly found this out when Kara was shedding her bowel, dealt with quickly and well, thankfully
useful piece of information
