Raw

Hello everyone! I am currently feeding Kimber 2 cups of Fromm mixed with 1 teaspoon of enzyme diane 8x and she is doing great. I am thinking about switching to a commercial raw diet. My question is does anyone know how much enzymes I would be adding to raw? Do I mix it the same? Let it thaw out, then incubate the enzymes the same as I would with dry kibble?

I am not sure about enzymes and raw feeding. Someone who feeds raw or knows about it should be on soon. Glad you have Kimber stable on the Fromms.

Hi,

1. When feeding raw, first make sure the food is room temperature, and if possible have the raw all chopped or ground vs. big hunks of meat, etc.
2. Then add the enzymes, mix well (add a little water/moisture if you think it might be needed to allow the enzymes a better distribution in-between the food particles).
3. Let the raw food with the enzymes incubate per usual (20/+ minutes)
4. With raw you give less enzymes.... with 6x powdered enzymes you start with anywhere between 1/2 tsp of 6x powdered enzymes to 3/4 tsp of 6x powdered enzyme per 1 cup of raw food. BUT.......Since you are using 8x powdered enzymes my suggestion would be to start with an enzyme dose of anywhere between 1/4 tsp to 1/2 tsp per 1 cup of raw food.

It is up to you whether you want to start on the low end or the high end of the enzyme dose... personally i would start with the higher dose, see how it goes, and if you think the poos are looking great.... then i would try reducing the enzymes to the lower dose.

Hope this helps!
