With a TLI of 6.9 your dog is just outside the range we call sEPI - subclinical EPI (2.5-5) where we recommend treating as if EPI and then retesting later as Elisabeth said it takes time for the pancreas to atrophy. My boy had a TLI of 16 when he was first tested at 3mos old - at 13mos old he was tested again and it was less than .4. So in my opinion, I would treat as if EPI and have the test run again after 6mos or more.
Madelon, owned by DOC. DOC dx EPI 5/2015 = TLI < .4, B12 406; Folate >24. DOC taught me so much and together we battled and overcame EPI, food sensitivies, environmental allergies but we lost the cancer battle. DOC was dx with hemangiosarcoma 5/2022 and crossed the rainbow bridge July 24, 2022. He is and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my heart dog.
