I just keep jumping in here---you know what's weird, is the jar of pancreved says 3/4-1 teaspoon per meal, period, nothing at all about the food portion. Since you all encouraged me to increase the dose, Tucker is showing many signs of getting better. :)
Tucker was a shepherd/lab mix--- TLI 1.3, Folate 9.7, Cobalamin 666, Lipase 38. Took Diane's Enzymes 4 teaspoons/day, Wonderlabs B12 one capsule per day, and Tylan 1/16 teaspoon/ morning (to hold SID at bay). Taste of the Wild High Prairie, 1 1/2 cups/day, with a total of 4 cups of Fresh Pet. Stopped eating everything in sight, and went from 60 to 85 pounds! Tucker was my boyfriend, and my husband was OK with that. Tucker succumbed to hemangiosarcoma, but we cherished every day we had with that wonderful, beautiful boy. I will always, always miss my sweet big boy.

Hi Danielle,

Congratulations on the improved poop! If it is improving, that is a good sign. You may already be doing this, but if you keep a journal/log of everything you give Monday, the amounts, and the resulting poos, you can see how things are going. One change at a time for 3-5 days should give you the information you need. The tylan is usually given for 45 days at the beginning. It is a mild antibiotic and doesn't have as many side effects as others. It has been found to be more effective for EPI. Of course, each dog with EPI is different......so we always allow for exceptions. Kolby has always managed to be the exception!

One more question... Hubs and I had watermelon with dinner. We took the rinds out to our chickens.... Oops, I dropped one! Monday was doggy on the spot and snatched it up before I could stop her.... She is still super hungry all the time. How much should I worry, or should I just watch for her to pass undigested watermelon rind?

Sometimes if you catch it soon enough you can give a small meal with some enzymes ASAP to cover the watermelon. If it was right after an enzymed meal you might be ok.

Are you feeding 150% of the recommended amount of food?

We are feeding her at 150%. She has some catching up to do... It's getting a little better every day.

This morning I saw the first bit of partially digested watermelon rind pass in a well formed and firm poo! It is exciting to see something happening!

hi

firstly thank you for adding your regime to your profile

a lot of our dogs do not tolerate chicken or rice, that doesnt mean its not recommended, but.......Kara was ill if I gave her either

you might want to see how she digests food

we call it transition time

chop a fresh carrot or shed, add to food , time the time eaten and time it is eliminated in poop, this is the transition time, it gives you an idea what works and what does not

and I am with everyone on Tylan , Kara only turned a corner when we added it, they will steal anything, maybe feed several meals and one before bedtime, all enzymed
My name is Jean we live in Liverpool in Uk

I am the Forum Director which I am very proud of

My Kara born 21 July 2009 diagnosed with EPI by cTLI test August 2010 TLI = <1...folate 14 Cobalamin 408, shot down to 94, b12 injections every other day

Lowest weight 39 pounds

We used Panzym enzymes, Tylan and Chemeyes b12 capsules

Sadly, on 10th May 2019, we lost her to DM
