Face Washing

Post by pnh2859 » 04 Sep 2019, 14:13

Good Afternoon,
I am new to EPI with our GS and I heard people talking about washing their dogs face after eating. Is this something we should be doing, our Vet did not tell us this?
My name is Paula and I live in the panhandle of Florida. I have one dog: Odis a 5 1/2 yrs GS, he is our 5th GS in 45 yrs. Odis started having EPI symptons 4 weeks ago and we are treating him as if he has EPI while blood results come in.

swilling their mouths out with water sometimes helps if they develop mouth sores from powdered enzymes , but they soon go

ice cubes are much the same
My name is Jean we live in Liverpool in Uk

We used Panzym enzymes, Tylan and Chemeyes b12 capsules

Hi and welcome to our EPI family. Every EPI dog is different - some are very sensitive to the enzymes and need their muzzles washed or "bob" for kibbles to help rinse their mouth or eat on a flat plate - to help avoid mouth sores - others don't need any special treatment. Just keep a close eye for mouth sores and if you see any or any bleeding then you can try one of the above suggestions.

DOC taught me so much and together we battled and overcame EPI, food sensitivies, environmental allergies but we lost the cancer battle. DOC was dx with hemangiosarcoma 5/2022 and crossed the rainbow bridge July 24, 2022. He is and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my heart dog.
