Not able to go all night

Post by Louelle » 29 Sep 2019, 01:08

Hi
Elle was diagnosed about 4 weeks ago we used lypex as per the vet but have moved to chemeyes high strength powder and feeding kibble with less than 4% fiber she has also 6 weeks antibiotics. She is making great progress and put on 1 kg wanting to play and go on walks. We are having issues with peeing and some times pooping on floor over night. We had no issues before she was ill
and then when she was very ill and pooing lots. I should have said we are getting 3 to 4 perfect pops a day. Any adv on how we get back to being able to hold it all night. Se does go before bed at 10 and as soon as door is opened between 5 and 6 am also if she barks we get up to let her out but can have had an accedent before barks

I also wonder with Jean if she had the issue with lypex. A lot of times when the enzymes are started, the dog will have to urinate more.

Hi , we started with Panzym, with poos and wees in the night, both before and after treatment. She was drinking excessively,so it had to come through. I changed to Lypex to get her to eat enzymed food. This coincided with her improvement physically. However she always had a bladder that only lasted a few hours. I stopped letting her drink too much In the evening and night. I needed my sleep after surgery!
How much does Elle drink?
Springer spaniel Marti had Epi, PLE , MMM just to confuse me. She lived till 12yrs, chubby and happy despite eight years of epi.
Capsule enzymes suited her best. B12 supplements made her into a new dog!
After a cocker with PLN kidney disease, I now have two healthy rescues, a lively, suicidal , small ginger terrier, adopted with pneumonia, and gum disease needing nearly all his teeth out, and a fluffy grey toy poodle/terrier from Greece.

Hi! Glad you are getting the Chemeyes high strength powder. Are you using an antibiotic for SID (small intestinal dysbiosis) and are you supplementing B12?
Madelon, owned by DOC. DOC dx EPI 5/2015 = TLI < .4, B12 406; Folate >24. DOC taught me so much and together we battled and overcame EPI, food sensitivies, environmental allergies but we lost the cancer battle. DOC was dx with hemangiosarcoma 5/2022 and crossed the rainbow bridge July 24, 2022. He is and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my heart dog.

Hi
Thanks for the reply
She was on lypex for 2 weeks and we had the same issues. She is still on a course of antibiotics we didn't get B12 supplements as vet advised B12 levels were ok.
We were getting a poo over night as well some time but are feeding her later and that is less frequent but does still happen occasionally. She sleeps in the kitchen and des not always bark during the night but will bark when it's time to get up.
Always pees at night and first thing so not like she is just not going.

it doesnt sound like a reaction to the enzymes

it took a while for Kara to get through the night

have you had her wee tested incase there is an infection

what sort of time scales are you feeding , and does she have solid poo what antibiotics are you giving

Not sure I could ask would that be something she would take forever or just for a short time and will it help with peeing at night
