Question about changing foods

Post by LilasMom » 13 Oct 2019, 13:12

My husband and I are at odds over length of time for food trial. Lila has diarrhea but not the same large cow patties. Small amounts of chocolate brown. We changed food 4 days ago. How many days do we wait to try another food? She is still having alot of gurgling stomach noises.

Feeding her 150%
1 tsp of enzymes per cup of food
Waiting 30 mins for enzymes to activate

Thank you for any suggestions!

Keep to the new suitable food for a week or two.
However........rumbling, gurgling and farting isn’t to do with food, it’s to do with the gas from from fermentation caused by Bacteria.
Your vet needs to be told, because it is invariably SIBO or as it was known, SID. As folks mentioned your other post, most epi dogs develop it. So you need to read up on the 45 days of tylan, which is the preferred antibiotic.
Springer spaniel Marti had Epi, PLE , MMM just to confuse me. She lived till 12yrs, chubby and happy despite eight years of epi.
Capsule enzymes suited her best. B12 supplements made her into a new dog!
After a cocker with PLN kidney disease, I now have two healthy rescues, a lively, suicidal , small ginger terrier, adopted with pneumonia, and gum disease needing nearly all his teeth out, and a fluffy grey toy poodle/terrier from Greece.
