Creon vs powdered enzymes

I was having so much luck with the powdered enzymes. In just 3 weeks Tinkerbell’s poop is perfect and she is gaining weight. However, now she has mouth sores and won’t eat the food. Should I try creon instead? Should I stop the enzymes for a few days? I’m just so frustrated and sad that I’ve caused her pain. She is only 10 pounds and can’t afford to lose any weight. She is 16 and has no teeth so only softish food will do. She hates green tripe and won’t eat it. She likes cottage cheese and pumpkin but won’t eat the I/D canned food w/ enzymes now. Please help!

You might try putting her dose of enzymes in a gel capsule for a few days and feed right before the meal. I bought a capsule machine and gel caps from Amazon. To discourage mouth sores once they heal, try washing the mouth area with water, giving ice cubes, anything that cleans the enzymes off. Letting the food incubate longer will help. Maybe 30 to 45 minutes.

Has anyone used Foodfurlife additive? It’s a powder you mix with raw or cooked meat. It supposedly has many good nutrients and all you add is the meat. I’m having so much trouble getting Tinkerbell to eat. She’s so picky and doesn’t like any canned food. I was cooking for her prior to EPI. She loves pot roast and chicken and rice and spaghetti and chopped steak etc. The vet put her on Science Diet ID when she was diagnosed and she hates it. Of course I’d have to add the enzymes to the meat if I cooked it but would I have to if it was raw? I’m just about at my wits end to find something she will eat. (16 yo and no teeth so softish food) Thank you, you guys have been my sanity savior. (what’s left of it!)

You would still add the enzymes even with the raw.
Are you using gel caps for the enzymes ?

oh Boy 16 and no teeth

personally at that age I would feed what she will eat, even if you have to liquidise it

enzymes have to be added to any food of any description

I dont blame her not liking the Science Diet, Kara's face was enough when I gave her any prescription food, and my cat Titch would spit it out, totally offended

have you tried scrambled eggb and mashed potato, one of Karas staples

I really feel for you

Oh thank you guys for the replys. I was feeling like a really bad mom for giving people food with the enzymes. Last night she had beef pot pie, with enzymes but no peas) and ate every bite. So I will cook for her and not worry too much about the Rx diet. Keep it low fiber best I can and see if I can put some weight on her. I was worried about any vitamins she was missing and if I was making Sid worse. You guys give me hope to keep struggling along the best I can. I’m going to try a sample of the Foodfurlife life and see if that works as an option. Bless you all.

You could always add in a a senior multi vitamin if you are worried. I use this one when I home cook:
