Re: Diabetes in dog with possible EPI

Hello, my name is Barbara and I’m new on this site. I have a 10 year old yorkie/Pomeranian who has diabetes for the last 5 years. I regulate her with Novolin N 2x a day doing well until this summer. She lost weight and became weak as all symptoms pointed to EPI. I diagnosed her with EPI and began Pantenex with her meals as directed 2X a day. Has anyone else dealt with the two problems together. Now I need to up her insulin due to her increased absorption of food. I know this makes sense but would like outside input from experts like you all. Thank you, Barbara

Hi Just a little more update on Ruby hair has come back on her ears. Hair seems to be popping up on her sides...hope they grow fast ...I have been using olive oil and water (about 5 to 10 drops of oil to a glass of water). I massage it in as I do a little at a time on her back and sides and legs. To much and I pat it off her.

Also, the problem she has been having for her eyes...I just stopped everything I had tried and now it seems like her eyes are starting to clear up and no very crusty much at all. Mucous is very little.

I don't know preserver keep learning and keep trying till something works. DON'T GIVE UP. ......... Ruby is 9 1/2 years old.
