This forum has really been a Godsend. Titan is lying sleeping at my feet now and his stomach has quietened down considerably. His stools are improving in color but consistency is still varied. I am trying to find a food with lower fiber and my try Purina One True Instinct (He is on Earthborn Large breed at present).

I really can't thank you all enough for the encouragement and support

Hi, Neil...I just ordered 100 grams of Tylan on Chewy.com, for $55.00, with free shipping. It was $114. from the vet. Tucker takes between 1/8 and 1/4 teaspoon/day. I'm sorry your new appointment is so far away, but then with these ladies taking care of you and your pup, you should be fine. Just listen to what they say, because they are the true experts, and generous with their time. Take care---Pam
Tucker was a shepherd/lab mix--- TLI 1.3, Folate 9.7, Cobalamin 666, Lipase 38. Took Diane's Enzymes 4 teaspoons/day, Wonderlabs B12 one capsule per day, and Tylan 1/16 teaspoon/ morning (to hold SID at bay). Taste of the Wild High Prairie, 1 1/2 cups/day, with a total of 4 cups of Fresh Pet. Stopped eating everything in sight, and went from 60 to 85 pounds! Tucker was my boyfriend, and my husband was OK with that. Tucker succumbed to hemangiosarcoma, but we cherished every day we had with that wonderful, beautiful boy. I will always, always miss my sweet big boy.

Hi Pam,
I ordered Tylan from Allivet - similar pricing. The only delay was my current vet approving the script... I too wish that his appointment with the new vet were sooner.

I totally agree with you on this Forum being the most wonderful gift ever. The experience and knowledge is completely incredible, as well as the kindness from everyone in sharing their time.

Hi Neal!! So glad to hear Titan is doing a little better and that you were able to get the Tylan ordered. Have you switched foods? Another thing you can try if you haven't already - sorry I don't remember if you have or not - but you can try Slippery Elm bark powder - it's a prebiotic mucilage my boy gets 1/2tsp twice a day - be sure to mix with a tablespoon or so of water and put on food just before serving. Here's a link to the information on slippery elm https://epi4dogs.com/slippery-elm/

I am so glad that Titan has calmed and is feeling better. As you get the food and antibiotics in balance, along with the B12, you will see more improvement. What a joy to have a contented dog at your feet.

I am trialing Purina One TI, High protein. Initial results look good - solid stool with less volume than on Earthborn. I am weaning him off of the Chicken and Rice supplement too and aim to be 100% kibble by weekend when my new Tylan arrives.

Hi Neal,

Let us know how the trial goes. It's great that he has improved so much. Good luck with the transition!
