Update on Lenus: He was on Panzym for 2 weeks and it seemed to make a big diffrence. One of those weeks was on a diet of Royal Canin sensitive. This diet was four weeks so 3 weeks without Panzym and 1 week with. There was a slight improvement with the basic diet food but a big improvement when Panzym was added. Royal Canin finished, we tried him on grain free Workingphrs duck and potato. Real improvement! 2 weeks of adding Panzym gave us a different dog. His digestive sytem working as it should. 8 days ago we decided to feed Lenus without Panzym and have since found no change between adding and not adding Panzym which leads us to believe it was a food intolerance issue and not EPI, we hope. The 'Workingphrs' grain free, dog food seems to suit him, his coat is returning to a glossy black, dandruff free state and his energy levels are excellent. We were a bit worried by the higher protein in the food but he hasn't become over excited and in fact, seems fuller for longer after meals and his movements are now regular, brown/greenish and perfectly formed. Annoyed with myself that it took so long to get to now. He hasn't displayed the same manic obsession with food the he showed a few weeks ago but he is a Lurcher so there's always great excitement when his body clock tells him it's food time. He's also twigged he's stronger than me and that I've got a weakened knee, keeps barging me out of the way 😁. Best we've seen him since he came here. Again I must thank the people on here for the excellent advice in guiding us to a possible solution in such a small space of time, you know who you are. Hopefully it wasn't EPI but we intend getting his bloods thoroughly checked when Vets get back to normal. Keep you posted on that and any changes we find between now and then.
Finally, for all those who have said we are good for taking him in, tis the other way round, he gives more than he asks and we are blessed to have him. His presence gives us a priceless life, happier than we could ever be. Long may he reign as head of the house 🐆

So glad to hear this update, Ray!

I am sticking by my opinion that Lenus is very fortunate that he is with you....and one of the reasons he is so lucky is that you see it the other way around.......yes, priceless.

Hi Ray,

I just read your latest post and what a lovely comment "he gives more than he asks and we are blessed to have him. His presence gives us a priceless life, happier than we could ever be." Lenus sure lucked out with you and yours as his family!

That is also great to hear that you found a food that really agrees with him... whether this is or is not EPI....with some of the gastro conditions... the right diet is often the final piece of the puzzle.

Please continue to keep us posted on his progress!
Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

Hi Ray

I told you you are a lovely man when we spoke on the phone, and your statement adds to it

I am soooo pleased about Lenus, food is a pain to get right I gave so much to the local animal rescue until I found out Kara was intollerant of beef, pork, chicken , and white fish, (by blood test) so going forward it was lamb based with no poultry fat

My vet was convinced that chicken in animal food is the dregs, and he was my hero, Uncle Ian, the vet, no relative

we had a lovely hour thunderstorm here in the night, torrential rain for hours

hope everything is good with you down there
