It’s so stressful

My boy has been on b12 and pantenex for about 2 years now. We really haven’t been successful, usually his score is a 6. I’m trying pro and prebiotic. Hopefully we can make process, it’s frustrating at this point. Anything else I could try, I’m out of ideas. Thanks

Hi. Would you like to provide us with some information on your pup?
What was the result of the Tli test?
Was the B12 and folate tested?
What food is your pup on and how much a day?
How are you preparing the food with the enzymes?
What medications is your dog on?
4 things must come together before an EPI dog will thrive:
1. Enzymes
2. Diet. Usually grainfree with 4% or less fiber
3. Antibiotic
4. B12 shots

Here is the Quick guide for USA:

Hi BOnnie, Unfortunately, sometimes it is difficult to find the right balance of things to manage an EPI dog.... a little more or a little less of the 4 cornerstones of treating EPI:
  • Enzymes
    Diet
    SID/SIBO
    B12
And then sometimes you have to try different products of the 4 cornerstones .

AND THEN (and this is what i am wondering if it may be a possibility with why you are having difficulty) if the poos continue to be loose, no matter what you try, sometimes it is because your dog has a combo of EPI + IBD (or some sort of food sensitivity)... We do see this often in EPI dogs. SOOOOOOOOOoooooo... although i don't have any details with your situation (so i cannot tell if this is even the problem) .... if your dog continues to have loose stools.... AND
1. If you are giving B12 in case the B12 is low (B12)
2. If you have tried multiple low fiber content foods (something with less than 4% fiber content) (DIET)
3. if your has already tried Tylan antibiotic for 45 days/twice a day.... and if that didn't work, (for SID)
4. if your vet then proceeded to try Metronidazole for 30 days/twice a day...
5. if you have tried adding a prebiotic like SLippery Elm powder.....and if it is loose stools that are still persisting..... what you might want to try next is
6. a true Hydrolyzed food.... the one that seems to work well with these EPI dogs is Royal Canine "Ultamino"

Not sure if this is helpful but hope so!
