Hi Bill and that is a nice update! Do you have the result from the initial Tli test for EPI? Was Ace fasted before the test? Reason I ask is once a dog is diagnosed the Tli will not increase. The pancreas will not regenerate. Usually no need to retest as it will only go lower.
Hope this helps.
My name is Jill and we live on the Hood Canal in Washington State. We currently have 2 Jack russells, TJ is 8 and Sadie is 2.

Mickey and his pancreatitis brought me to Epi4dogs.com site in 2012 to help manage it.
He lived from 6/99 - 8/2014

Mickey, Jack Russell. Chronic Pancreatitis. Dianes enzymes, 1/8t 3x/day with meals.

Thanks! I didn't know if it was necessary or not for observation. I hadn't been instructed to do so. More just thinking out loud. 🙂
Hi all, I'm Bill. Ace was diagnosed with EPI on 5/31/18. In January, 2018 he was at the vet for routine check-up and weighed in at 34 lbs. In May after fighting with weeks of poor poo, he weighed 24.6 lbs. On Saturday July 28th, Ace was diagnosed as diabetic.
2 meals per day. He receives 6 units Vetsulin injections twice daily with each meal.
1 cup Victor Multi pro with 1/2 cup ground chicken breast, 1/4 cup sweet potato, 1/4 fat free cottage cheese. 1/2 tsp Pantenex enzymes, incubated 20-30 minutes.

Hi Bill,

Nice to hear that Ace is doing well... sounds like he is doing great in the "weight" dept too.....

Typically when a dog is confirmed with EPI via the TLI test, there is no need to re-run the test. However, it is a good thing to periodically re-run the B12 test... just to make sure the B12 is in a good range ;)
Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

We've officially made it past the 1 year anniversary of Ace's epi diagnosis. We've been fairly stable with this for the better part of the year thanks to the wonderful advice from everyone here. We're consistently in the 38-40 lb range after starting off the journey at 24 lb and change.
The diabetes are always a work in progress.... Especially with teenagers in the house that might not always be aware of what they leave laying around.

WOW!!! Ace is looking fabulous- -what a gorgeous pup! So glad to hear that his EPI is most of the time under good control ..... but yeah... diabetes in conjunction with EPI can be quite challenging to keep in good control at all times..... even when you do everything "right" ... been there/done that and i don't even have teenagers .............
