i am back to syringe feeding, but he has kept the last two 30ml down with enzymes (not enough food I know, but I just want him to keep it down). I am also doing a syringe of water as well. I also talked to some one on the phone that had a thriving EPI dog, and it was so nice to talk to someone who went through the same journey and had good results. I cannot thank this community enough for helping me understand all the ins and outs.

here's to hoping he settles in for a good a night and keeps it all in!

Thanks all!

Sarah

We are headed to the new vet today with our journal and a stack of print outs from the website and questions.

Monday we started on omeprazole and sucralfate for his stomach, and our last dose of Cerenia was yesterday morning.
So far we have had no vomiting for 24 hours. We decided to not give him the Cerenia today as the side effects are "depression/lethargy, anorexia, and more," and we just really want him to eat anything. Right now he has no desire for any food (enzyme or not). So we are syringing every hour - enzymed food, pedialyte and water - on rotation. We successfully got 1.5 cups of food and 2.5 cups of water and pedialyte in him yesterday, which seems to be far less than what he needs, but it is still in his body and hopefully being processed. Today our goal is to increase that and hopefully the vet can prescribe the Tylan antibiotic and give him additional fluids while he is there.

He does still have some light in his eyes and he is trying to drink water on his own, but still doesn't seem to intake water just laps and splashes.

Thanks all!

Sarah

I took JT to new vet, and unfortunately we discovered that he has Aspiration pneumonia now. He lost more weight in the last 24 hours, and I am just not sure he has enough to pull through. I know he is in good hands and they are getting more fluids in him.

Thankful for all of your kinds words and support.

Oh, Sarah, you have my prayers. I am so sorry your boy is going through all this. Sorry you are, too. Take care----Pam
Tucker was a shepherd/lab mix--- TLI 1.3, Folate 9.7, Cobalamin 666, Lipase 38. Took Diane's Enzymes 4 teaspoons/day, Wonderlabs B12 one capsule per day, and Tylan 1/16 teaspoon/ morning (to hold SID at bay). Taste of the Wild High Prairie, 1 1/2 cups/day, with a total of 4 cups of Fresh Pet. Stopped eating everything in sight, and went from 60 to 85 pounds! Tucker was my boyfriend, and my husband was OK with that. Tucker succumbed to hemangiosarcoma, but we cherished every day we had with that wonderful, beautiful boy. I will always, always miss my sweet big boy.
