Madelon,

The vet considered his previous poops “good EPI poops” and asked about diarrhea, however I denied it. BUT I came home to that runny slop, so I think she may have leaned towards treatment if she saw that! We have a check up on 1/5 and I plan on talking in person to try and convince her. If she won’t, I’ll choose another vet from the clinic. There’s one that I prefer but she’s always booked up, and an EPI dog can’t wait sometimes.

If I have to keep ordering from bird sites, I will. I would just like the chewy prescription as I prefer to order there.

His poop was a 4/5 this morning - much better than the diarrhea last night

Glad to hear the poop was better today. My boy is on an 1/8th tsp maintenance dose - I always order from the bird stores just because it's less expensive and sometimes Chewy is behind in their shipping but I totally understand - Chewy is a good company and you need to do/order from where you are comfortable. When I want to do something with my boy and the vet says no, I always ask why not? I make them explain their thinking and then I provide them with the research I've done and as long as it's not something that could harm my boy they usually end up agreeing and then I show them the proof in the poop LOL - mine were not in favor of B12 supplementing at first and Slippery Elm - they are now! LOL
Madelon, owned by DOC. DOC dx EPI 5/2015 = TLI < .4, B12 406; Folate >24. DOC taught me so much and together we battled and overcame EPI, food sensitivies, environmental allergies but we lost the cancer battle. DOC was dx with hemangiosarcoma 5/2022 and crossed the rainbow bridge July 24, 2022. He is and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my heart dog.
