Hi everyone,
One of our members, Judith, told me about the survey that is being collected by Penn Vet/Dr. Rebecka Hess at 215-898-9427 or rhess@vet.upenn.edu. regarding Diabetic dogs. Thank you Judith!
Because some of us with EPI dogs are also battling Diabetes.... and because i personally can attest to how difficult it can be to manage two concurrent conditions such as EPI + Diabetes........ i gladly filled out this survey- -in hope that maybe it can be of help .
If you have a Diabetic Dog and are also interested, please go to this link:

Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

Hi
I've also filled out the survey. Nate had an appointment with Dr Hess today and I was very impressed with her knowledge of EPI, Addison's and pharmacology. It is well worth the drive to Philadelphia if you are in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland or Delaware to go to Penn.

Olesia - should I post this on our FaceBook page?
Madelon, owned by DOC. DOC dx EPI 5/2015 = TLI < .4, B12 406; Folate >24. DOC taught me so much and together we battled and overcame EPI, food sensitivies, environmental allergies but we lost the cancer battle. DOC was dx with hemangiosarcoma 5/2022 and crossed the rainbow bridge July 24, 2022. He is and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my heart dog.

Madelon, that's a great idea.... yes, please do post on our FB page... You never know who else might have a dog with Diabetes. The more data we can supply the better the research
Thanks for asking!

Re: Survey for those with Diabetic dogs....
Judith,
Again, thanks for this link for Diabetes.
Glad your visit with Dr. Hess went well and that you were impressed with her.
If you don't mind, can you keep us updated on the results of Nate's test..... i am very interested.
I am especially interested in what you wrote me about "his seizure medicine which he is being taken off of because it is causing hyperchloremic metabolic acidosis." .... as we have another person on the forum that is also dealing with a dog with seizures + seizure meds............and now is having issues............ just wondering if there might be some similarities or not...........

Re: Survey for those with Diabetic dogs....
Thanks so much for this. I'll definitely follow up with the survey as well. Work has been busy, put an offer in on a new house, etc. so I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off and no time to be on here lately.
Hi all, I'm Bill. Ace was diagnosed with EPI on 5/31/18. In January, 2018 he was at the vet for routine check-up and weighed in at 34 lbs. In May after fighting with weeks of poor poo, he weighed 24.6 lbs. On Saturday July 28th, Ace was diagnosed as diabetic.
2 meals per day. He receives 6 units Vetsulin injections twice daily with each meal.
1 cup Victor Multi pro with 1/2 cup ground chicken breast, 1/4 cup sweet potato, 1/4 fat free cottage cheese. 1/2 tsp Pantenex enzymes, incubated 20-30 minutes.
