9-4-18 Taste of the Wild Food alert!
Hi everyone,
Many of our EPI members have used Taste of the Wild dog with with great results - - so when folks ask about what dog food they should use for their EPI dog, TOTW is one of the ones suggested ....simply because others have had good luck with it with our EPI dogs. Finding a food that best agrees with our individual pups can be mind-boggling.....so we try to share what "might" work and or has worked for "some" others. Of course, we always explain that there are no guarantees with any brand of food when it comes to diets with EPI dogs.
Anyway, it has come to our attention (thank you Jean!!!!) that there is now a class action lawsuit against TOTW.

We have no proof if these claims are true or not..... but when we hear of possible adverse situations with dog foods, we will post and leave it up to the consumer to decide how to proceed.

Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

Like we stated, we do not know if this has validity or not, but best to put it out there and let people research and decide for themselves whether or not to use this food...........

Thank you Susan, Jean and Olesia for bringing this to our attention
Madelon, owned by DOC. DOC dx EPI 5/2015 = TLI < .4, B12 406; Folate >24. DOC taught me so much and together we battled and overcame EPI, food sensitivies, environmental allergies but we lost the cancer battle. DOC was dx with hemangiosarcoma 5/2022 and crossed the rainbow bridge July 24, 2022. He is and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my heart dog.

it was Susan that started this information, but its as always, a team effort
but we need to make sure that all of our information is as clear and not misleading
we all have one goal here, and thats the management of EPI, and we do not need anything muddying the waters
so onward and upward

Interesting. I would think that if a claim like that is made, there better be research into multiple batches across different variations of the food with a clear explanation of how the claim is being substantiated. I'm seeing a whole new career opportunity as an independent pet food investigator.
Hi all, I'm Bill. Ace was diagnosed with EPI on 5/31/18. In January, 2018 he was at the vet for routine check-up and weighed in at 34 lbs. In May after fighting with weeks of poor poo, he weighed 24.6 lbs. On Saturday July 28th, Ace was diagnosed as diabetic.
2 meals per day. He receives 6 units Vetsulin injections twice daily with each meal.
1 cup Victor Multi pro with 1/2 cup ground chicken breast, 1/4 cup sweet potato, 1/4 fat free cottage cheese. 1/2 tsp Pantenex enzymes, incubated 20-30 minutes.

and Bill. go for it
a pet food investigator in chief,
we have very strict rules over her in UK, I think its the food and drugs administration
and these
https://www.pfma.org.uk/uk-pet-food-legislation
but things get throug as usual
but we are keen to stay ahead, or at least on a level pegging with what goes on
and whilst I am director of this forum, I will look out
