Hi Jackie,

I am just catching up with your thread. I'm so glad you had the Tli test done. You are doing all the right things. And you have received excellent advice already. Our Kolby did not have pancreatitis with his EPI so I do not have experience with that. You are in good hands with Jill and Olesia.

This is the hardest stage.....getting to a correct diagnosis....and waiting while you are so concerned about your pup. Hang in there. Willow is lucky to have you.

Looking forward to seeing the test results.

Hang in there.

We got the test results back today and from what I can tell maybe she doesn't have EPI?? She was fasted from after dinner the night before until her blood was drawn around 2:15 pm the next day.

TLI = 30.6 (normal range was quoted at 5.0 - 35.0)
Cobalamin = 278 (normal range quoted at 284-836)
Folate = 15.4 (they did not give me a range for this)

Any thoughts on what these mean? I only spoke with the Vet tech and she was unsure. She said the dr wanted to put Willow on Epizyme and didn't seem to understand she was already on something similar. She kept confusing it with the Tylan.

The good news is the Internal medicine Vet called and had a cancelation so they can see her tomorrow morning. I hope they have some other ideas.

Yes you are correct it is not Epi. I am not sure if raising the B12 might help. Unless pancreatitis is present I would wonder if enzyme use is warranted.
I will look into this.

She does have pancreatitis and was diagnosed with it in April. Her pancreatitis test last week showed it was still abnormal so it has not gone away. I asked if there was any detail with that test and the tech said no, it just shows normal or abnormal.

I knew you said she had pancreatitis just didn't know if it was still active end of May.
I would just continue on the enzymes if helping, low fat diet and pain medication as pancreatitis is painful.
