Fun News about Tucker

Post by Tuckaboo Pam » 26 Jul 2022, 19:32

I took Tucker to the vet today, to have a couple of lumps looked at. Good news. One is a lipoma, and the other a granular something or other, caused by his OCD licking. This boy.

BUT, when he got on the scale, it registered a whopping 95 pounds! You could have knocked me over with a feather!

When we started this journey, Tucker weighed 60 pounds, and had weighed that much for 4 1/2 years. His ribs showed, his hip bones showed, and he was completely ravenous all the time. My vet just considered him a healthy lean. Today, he is still my goofy, silly, sometimes grumpy & easily scared baby, always my boyfriend, but now there are 95 pounds of him to love, and I just can't believe it! YEA!!!

Happy Day to all of you. --- Pam
Tucker was a shepherd/lab mix--- TLI 1.3, Folate 9.7, Cobalamin 666, Lipase 38. Took Diane's Enzymes 4 teaspoons/day, Wonderlabs B12 one capsule per day, and Tylan 1/16 teaspoon/ morning (to hold SID at bay). Taste of the Wild High Prairie, 1 1/2 cups/day, with a total of 4 cups of Fresh Pet. Stopped eating everything in sight, and went from 60 to 85 pounds! Tucker was my boyfriend, and my husband was OK with that. Tucker succumbed to hemangiosarcoma, but we cherished every day we had with that wonderful, beautiful boy. I will always, always miss my sweet big boy.

oh WOW!!!!! now that IS good news.....sounds like someone is pleasantly plump..... which is a WONDERFUL thing for an EPI dog ...
Congratultions!!!!!!!!

Sure sounds like "someone  " needs to be entered into the Chunky Monkey Club https://epi4dogs.com/chunky-monkey-club/
Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

YEAAAAHHOOOOOO!!!!! Way to go! That's wicked awesome!
Montgomery was born 20 March 2012. He eats extra lean ground chicken, lean ground pork and lean ground beef completed with Alnutrin and freeze-dried chicken liver, with hard-cooked egg. He gets two size zero capsules of Enzyme Diane's enzymes at each of his six meals, and a size four capsule of Tylan three times a day. He's a fierce little Spitfire with a roaring Merlin engine.

My vet being a mobile one, we only get Tucker weighed when we need some kind of test that she can't provide. Last year when we had the blood draw for his EPI test, he weighed 80, which was awesome. The reason I was floored yesterday, was the fact that he doesn't look any different to me.

I wish there was a club for me, where I could celebrate my weight gain!
