Hi everyone-
I am coming here to see if anyone has had anything similar and what they do to manage. I am well aware this is not medical recommendations but I would just like to hear others journeys because I know I am not alone.
I have had Type 1 Diabetes for 22 years. My A1C is 6.7. Not awful. Not amazing. For YEARS, I have struggled with what I thought was constipation and then I would get "excited" when I pooped. I wouldn't think anything of my poop at the time... just was happy that I went to the bathroom. Now realizing, the stools that I am having are not always formed, some mucus, some loose soft stools. I like to say I'm inconsistently consistent...
I tested for severe pancreatic insufficiency (66) and had a CT scan and everything was unremarkable. NOW WHAT? Do I take creon with every meals for the rest of my life?
My symptoms are inconsistent but when they happen I get sharp stabbing pains, bloating, incomplete emptying of stools.. sometimes nuggets, sometimes constipation. I am taking Linzess 142mcg daily as well.
Any advice is greatly appreciated

Hey Eric.
This group deals mainly with dogs and cats, so you might want to try another group to get the help you need.
Best Luck---Pam
Tucker was a shepherd mix--- TLI 1.3, Folate 9.7, Cobalamin 666, Lipase 38. Diane's Enzymes 4 t/day, B12 1 capsule/day, and Tylan 1/16 teaspoon/day. Taste of the Wild High Prairie, 4 c/day. 60 to 85 pounds! Tucker succumbed to hemangiosarcoma Nov. 2023. I will always, always miss my sweet big boy.
Now there's Nina. 5 year old GSD. We have had this heart healer since April 2024. TLI 1.0 B12 323. Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream 4c/day, 4 teaspoons 6X Enzyme Diane/day, 1 Wonderlabs B12/day. 2 T cottage cheese a.m., 1 boiled egg p.m.

SO sorry.....this is a dog EPI web site..... not people.
You might want to look for a FB or Forum that deal with People with EPI.
Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

The human experience may be valuable here, though. Eric can do the one thing our little ones can't - put the experience into words. Eric, I hope you get very well soon. Thank you for that eye-opener.
Montgomery was born 20 March 2012. He is SUPPOSED to be eating a home-cooked diet, but refuses. He eats Purina True Instinct Grain-Free Chicken and whatever chicken-based tinned food we can entice him with. Nine pounds of pure stubbornness. He gets two size 0 capsules of Enzyme Diane at each meal and one size 4 capsule of Tylosin three times daily. Sometimes he gets Petromalt. He's our little Spitfire, and when he purrs you KNOW he's got a real Merlin engine. Lately, he's taken to giving hugs. His hobbies include shooting marbles, shredding cardboard, and irritating his sister.

Looks like he left. But he could have been helpful, since our babies can't talk.
There was a hoomin visiting the canine Addison's group, for the sole purpose of trying to help answer questions...mainly about how it feels when.... etc
Chance was my 4 legged soul mate. My mobility assist service dog. Pure yellow Lab, 75 lbs. After struggling with weight all his life, finally dx with EPI. cTLI < 1, folate and B12 very low. Fed Raw. Maintained with Creon, Garden of Life probiotic and intermittent calcium bentonite clay. (Tylosin was a big nightmare for him)!
Rylee is Chance's successor; also pure Yellow/Fox red Lab. Started with symptoms at 8 weeks. At 6 months of age, also prescribed Creon due to suspected EPI (due to passing large amounts of undigested food). Currently suspected of blockages in pancreatic ducts. She is maintained VERY nicely on Creon and probiotics. Also raw fed.

If those talking boards had been around when Montgomery was really ill, I may have got him one. I know humans don't belong here and I know why, but that little window into what it actually feels like to have EPI was something.

I don't think it's a not belong here kind of thing. More of we don't really know how to help humans. People, animals, spiders I will help as much as I can, but very little experience outside of dogs.
