Thank You so much for the kind words.
I have increased the enzymes, and I will report back when I see the results. ---P

Tucker was a shepherd mix--- TLI 1.3, Folate 9.7, Cobalamin 666, Lipase 38. Diane's Enzymes 4 t/day, B12 1 capsule/day, and Tylan 1/16 teaspoon/day. Taste of the Wild High Prairie, 4 c/day. 60 to 85 pounds! Tucker succumbed to hemangiosarcoma Nov. 2023. I will always, always miss my sweet big boy.
Now there's Nina. 5 year old GSD. TLI 1.0 B12 323. We are still tweaking her routine, and getting lots of help from the forum. She is klutzy and goofy, and we love her dearly, too.

Re: NINA
hopefully this works!
Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

Re: NINA
Nina is MUCH better, but I'm going to buy some pineapple. I think she has developed a taste for poo!
Sashi (NO EPI) the hound's poo is getting very soft, and I wonder if it's possible to develop SID on its own, and whether a nice course of Tylan would be in order. Sometimes she'll have a normal stool that is soft at the end, but today she had one that if an EPI dog had, I would definitely think was SID.
Any advice?
Thanks for all the kindnesses I have received from other members. ---Pam

Re: NINA
Glad to hear Nina is much better! SOrry to hear that she has developed a taste for "poo"... but we hear that often... it kind of becomes a bad habit
REgarding Sashi's poo.... if you have any slippery elm... try some
and/or try canned pumpkin, or cook some barley and add it to Sashi's meals.....

Re: NINA
Trying not to have too many different posts on Nina, so I'm back at what I think is the first one.
I hate to do this, but the poo eating has become a round robin, with two of them "feeding" off each other, and I just can't take it.
I pick it up as soon as I see it happen, but there are times when I don't go out with the dogs. SO, since I tried pineapple for a few weeks, with no success, I am going to try MSG "Accent".
So, I am going to be lacing the food of two 80 pounds dogs and one ten pounder. I know MSG has some negative side effects, so my question is----how much do I have to give them, and what is the duration? I am hoping only a few days.
Thanks for your help, and I know some of you will disagree with my decision, but I really am at my wits' end.
***FUNNY THING---I had to search for this post, so I took a trip down memory lane. I had forgotten that the enzymes didn't work for Tucker, until the vet added Tylan. Maybe that will help somebody else.

Re: NINA
i always thought to just "sprinkle " some on the food.... which i guess might equal maybe 1/8 tsp or less.... maybe....
Unfortunately, sometimes poo eating becomes habit... and then you have to change the behavior.... BUT..... quite honestly i like the Tylan solution.... that might just be the best

Re: NINA
Olesia---They are such sneaky little boogers. Sashi mostly eats Gus the Maltese's poop, but on occasion she'll find 'something' I've missed in the yard. She is taking Tylan, because it's the only thing that makes her poo firm. I'll look out the window and rush to the door if I see her eating, and she stops when I shout her name. She and Nina leave it alone when I go outside with them, so they KNOW. Nina likes her own. Sashi is indiscriminate. I believe, like you said it's a habit, and I'm hoping that by making the poop taste bad (as if it tasted good for starters), they'll lose interest. So I'll just sprinkle some accent on the food & see if the habit ceases. I'll let you know. Thanks!---P

Re: NINA
did you also try adding crushed pineapple to their meals? sometimes that helps...or not.............. if all else fails, and it is a habit (UGH!) then i suggest the friendly muzzle... just put it on when they go out and take it off when they come in...however.... i do avoid the Hannibal Lecter looking ones
