Change in ingredients Victor Grain Free Hero dog food

Post by danimi01 » 27 Mar 2019, 11:34

Hi all,

I'm just sharing this because for the last month my Dex has been dealing with SID and I couldn't figure out what was going on after being stable for 9 years. I called his food manufacturer, Victor, and they told me they recently made the below changes to the Hero food:

- Added blood meal and garbanzo beans
- Removed flax seed

I have no doubt the change is what threw him off so I'm just sharing. My best to all and their amazing animals! :-)

Gosh.... i wish dog food companies wouldn't do this...............
Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

We recently went through the same thing with Forza10 - I actually contacted the food company when I first noticed the poop going south and they said nothing had changed with the food. A month later I contacted them again and they finally said they changed the formula - removed a protein and increased peas and potato. So infuriating. It took me about 7 months to find a food that worked with his EPI and food sensitivities. Hoping you and Dex find that right food quickly - picking up sloppy poos is no fun!
Madelon, owned by DOC. DOC dx EPI 5/2015 = TLI < .4, B12 406; Folate >24. DOC taught me so much and together we battled and overcame EPI, food sensitivies, environmental allergies but we lost the cancer battle. DOC was dx with hemangiosarcoma 5/2022 and crossed the rainbow bridge July 24, 2022. He is and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my heart dog.
