New member here - anxiously awaiting results of the epi blood test. We are located in Detroit, MI. My 8mos old Dalmatian, Bizzi, had her blood drawn on Monday morning. Results not back yet - maybe tomorrow. Is this normal? How long did you wait to get results? The reason I'm freaking out is I have had a specialty vet appointment set up for almost 2 weeks now at Blue Pearl (for tomorrow afternoon) to review her case and her medical record won't include this. Very frustrating!!!! This poor little girl hasn't had a firm/normal stool since 1 week after I got her. UUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
Thanks for any guidance you can give. I'll go back to reading the information on this site.

No, I don't. I couldn't speak with the vet, and the receptionist was less than helpful. Very frustrating.

Re: New member - blood test lab
hi there, Cindy, and welcome from the UK
what other symptoms does Bizzi show for EPI and was it the vet who suggested the way forward
Was the test at LEAST 8 hours food fasted ? which is the protocol from Texas A&M, preferably 12 hours
you might want to contct the vets who did the test and ask questions, Dont take no for an answer, its your dog, and your money, they listen to you as their customer
ours over here, took 2 days
ITS VERY FRUSTRATING

Re: New member - blood test lab
Hi and welcome to our EPI family. Have you got the results back? If the blood was taken on Monday you should have results Friday or Saturday. Please check out our quick start guide and ask any and all questions you may have.
Madelon, owned by DOC. DOC dx EPI 5/2015 = TLI < .4, B12 406; Folate >24. DOC taught me so much and together we battled and overcame EPI, food sensitivies, environmental allergies but we lost the cancer battle. DOC was dx with hemangiosarcoma 5/2022 and crossed the rainbow bridge July 24, 2022. He is and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my heart dog.

Hello and welcome. Waiting is so difficult. Our test came back (many years ago) within 3 days....we were actually shocked that it came back so fast. I hope you have results by now. Please feel free to ask any questions you have.

Re: New member - blood test lab
Cindy, I am in the process of deciding whether or not to get the blood test for my Tucker. The vet has treated him for other isuues, and eliminated them as culprits. The quote I was given was $440, for the test. Do you mind me asking, was yours that expensive?
Tucker was a shepherd/lab mix--- TLI 1.3, Folate 9.7, Cobalamin 666, Lipase 38. Took Diane's Enzymes 4 teaspoons/day, Wonderlabs B12 one capsule per day, and Tylan 1/16 teaspoon/ morning (to hold SID at bay). Taste of the Wild High Prairie, 1 1/2 cups/day, with a total of 4 cups of Fresh Pet. Stopped eating everything in sight, and went from 60 to 85 pounds! Tucker was my boyfriend, and my husband was OK with that. Tucker succumbed to hemangiosarcoma, but we cherished every day we had with that wonderful, beautiful boy. I will always, always miss my sweet big boy.
