WooHoo! That is great!
It might be good to keep a daily journal of food, meds, in case something causes a disrupt.

sadly its trial and error at the start of this journey

we had enteric coated enzymes at the beginning

Lypex, but it was too expensive, and over here, Creon is probably not available for pets

so keep your diary , note everything down, and change one thing at a time

I cried when Kara had her first proper poo

My Kara born 21 July 2009 diagnosed with EPI by cTLI test August 2010 TLI = <1...folate 14 Cobalamin 408, shot down to 94, b12 injections every other day

Lowest weight 39 pounds

We used Panzym enzymes, Tylan and Chemeyes b12 capsules

Sadly, on 10th May 2019, we lost her to DM

Happy poo dance time! I remember Marti’s first good poo. I knew then she wasn’t going to die despite her other issues.
If what you’re doing works, don’t change anything yet.
Springer spaniel Marti had Epi, PLE , MMM just to confuse me. She lived till 12yrs, chubby and happy despite eight years of epi.
Capsule enzymes suited her best. B12 supplements made her into a new dog!
After a cocker with PLN kidney disease, I now have two healthy rescues, a lively, suicidal , small ginger terrier, adopted with pneumonia, and gum disease needing nearly all his teeth out, and a fluffy grey toy poodle/terrier from Greece.

That’s correct. Our website section on it says to try SE before an trying antibiotic course. Lyra obviously needs tylan, so you could cut out the slippery elm for now. It says if you do need to use it the amount for Lyra is half a teaspoon.
I’ve only used it when my other dog had blood in his stools, from something else. SE produces a slimy coating which protects sore or ulcerated gut, so that it is unaffected by strong gut digestive acids, and heals really quickly. Epi doesn’t usually do this.

I can't find my comment, but want to apologize for mentioning enzymes. The root of your question was your lungs, and I had forgotten that. ----Pam
Tucker was a shepherd/lab mix--- TLI 1.3, Folate 9.7, Cobalamin 666, Lipase 38. Took Diane's Enzymes 4 teaspoons/day, Wonderlabs B12 one capsule per day, and Tylan 1/16 teaspoon/ morning (to hold SID at bay). Taste of the Wild High Prairie, 1 1/2 cups/day, with a total of 4 cups of Fresh Pet. Stopped eating everything in sight, and went from 60 to 85 pounds! Tucker was my boyfriend, and my husband was OK with that. Tucker succumbed to hemangiosarcoma, but we cherished every day we had with that wonderful, beautiful boy. I will always, always miss my sweet big boy.

Happy poop dance!! The daily log is a life saver - we are 4 1/2yrs in and I can't tell you how many times I've had to refer back to the log to figure things out. It also helped me figure out his non-related food sensitivities and environmental allergies.
Madelon, owned by DOC. DOC dx EPI 5/2015 = TLI < .4, B12 406; Folate >24. DOC taught me so much and together we battled and overcame EPI, food sensitivies, environmental allergies but we lost the cancer battle. DOC was dx with hemangiosarcoma 5/2022 and crossed the rainbow bridge July 24, 2022. He is and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my heart dog.

Hi,
I had a similar problem as you have experienced. I Couldn't use the powder either.
This is what I did and it has worked out for 9 years so far.

For each meal. (twice a day) I take two capsules of Creon (10,000 each) in the palm of my had put some water in my hand put my hand out to my dog and she licks them up. The water keeps them from sticking and she it doesn't get stuck on her mouth or in her throat. I feed her Earthborn Great Plaines Feast ..... 2 cups sometimes even 2 3/4 cups for her size. I add a little water to the kibble and make it moist and dump the water out. I even put her B12 with intrinsic factor in her bowl add a drop of pumpkin 100% pure from the supermarket. I keep the rest of the pumpkin in the refrigerator for about 7 days then I change and use a new can.

I never had to open a capsule or ever used a mask...... just the capsules as they come from the bottle.

I also, give my dog about 1/16 of a teaspoon of Primal Defense probiotics every few days. Took much and whew leave the room lol

I hope some of this help make things more pleasant for you and your dog. It works .......and you will be feeling better yourself.

THANKS EVERYONE

This is the reason that the forum is so valuable

people share their experiences, as my vet said "you are with me for maybe 30 minutes, you are with your pet 24/7, so you know what the score is"

open to everything

Kara shed her bowel because of SIBO/SID, that was horrible but I was reassured that the bowel recovers quickly, and on mashed potato and scrambled eggs, and 2 days in my bed, she did, she even pulled the duvet over her !know

so keep your diary and let us
